The UC Davis Equestrian Center is seeking new horse donations or care-leases to enrich our recreational lesson program (Rec Riding), which primarily serves UC Davis students and community members. Our program offers a safe and welcoming introduction to the equestrian community, where horses play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and educational environment.

We are looking for horses over 6 years old that are serviceably sound, calm-minded, and suitable for beginner to low intermediate adult riders. Our current herd is comprised of a wide range of breeds, from arabians to draft crosses and ages ranging from 6 to 22.

Donations are tax-deductible and greatly impact our ability to provide quality riding experiences and education. Our horses are cherished and well-cared for by dedicated staff and volunteers. If you have a horse that fits these criteria, please consider contributing to our program or help us spread the word by sharing our post!

For more information on loans or donations, please email us at [email protected]

Welcome back Aggies! Our horses are excited to welcome you back to Campus, so be sure to stop by the EQC this quarter.

There is something about the first of April that does odd things to our horses. Nothing that some treats and neck scratches can't fix!

Riding lesson registration for session 1 is open and we only have 2 spots left in Riding 300 and Riding 400 register at rec.ucdavis.edu before lessons start next week. Session 2 opens April 27th at 7am

From summer trail rides at Kennedy Meadows Resort & Pack Station to side saddle demos at UC Davis Equestrian Center, Johnny can do it all!

Thank you to Project R.I.D.E. Inc. for lending us this beautiful English side saddle and student barn supervisor, Eleanor, for being our demo rider! This demo was done in collaboration with professor, Clare Spencer, and her DES191 class to demonstrate the design and structure of 19th century English side saddle riding skirts.
