We're back with another Where Are They Now Wednesday!

Today, we're celebrating Coral! Coral came to us from the Yolo County Animal Services Shelter after she was found as a stray. It seemed pretty apparent that she had been well taken care of and was already spayed and microchipped and looked like she had freshly been groomed. Unfortunately, an owner never came forward for her and she sat at the shelter for almost 2 weeks with no adoption interest. Once we found a foster home for her, we found out what such a great girl she was and were surprised no one claimed her. Well, she is now living her best life and is a happy girl who gets to go on lots of adventures with her new mom. She and her mom were meant to be and we couldn't be happier for the two. Yay for Coral!

A frequent question we get asked is if our dogs are good with cats. While we don’t know the answer for some of our dogs, Charlie has gotten the stamp of approval from the cat in his foster home.

Charlie is the sweetest and squishiest baby, but sadly gets overlooked due to his size and breed. He has done great living with cats and other dogs, and could do well living with older kids. He is house and crate trained and is eager to learn (especially if tasty treats are involved).

Charlie is about 7 months old and weighs just under 50lbs. He is a purebred house hippo and has the cutest little heart on his nose. He has done great at multiple adoption events, including at a brewery. He loves everyone he meets and is a true charmer with his endearing and affectionate personality.

Did you know that kittens do best when adopted in pairs?

Lucky for you, we have several kittens in foster homes in groups of two or three who can't wait to find their fur-ever homes. Some of these kiddos are littermates, but some are unrelated and have been grouped together so they have playmates to grow up with.

We also offer a discount for adopters who adopt a second kitten, so really there isn't a reason not to adopt two kittens.

We're going to have some cooler weather this weekend, which means it will be a perfect time to come adopt your new best friend!

It’s everyone’s favorite day of the week, Where Are They Now Wednesday!

This week we’re celebrating Maggie! Maggie was one of our 10 pug/cattle dog mix puppies that was surrendered to us when a local family had an unintentional litter (the parent dogs have since been spayed/neutered). Maggie was one of the first puppies from the litter to be adopted and she is loving her best life! She is a happy spoiled girl who gets to go to work with her parents. She has her own Instagram if you’d like to follow her adventures, !

Do you want a lap dog, but also a running buddy? Look no further, Frank is here!

Frank is our happy little fluffball and we are amazed that he has gotten ZERO adoption interest after being available for adoption for a couple of weeks. What's not to love about Frank? He's cuddly, incredibly adorable, and is the perfect pint size weighing in around 10lbs.

Frank is estimated to be 4 years old and we guess he is some sort of miniature poodle mix. He doesn't shed, but we can't guarantee he is hypoallergenic.

Frank has done great with all the people he has met, including young kids, but seems like he would prefer to be your one and only canine companion. With a slow introduction and training, he may be able to live with dog-savvy cats. He thinks they're fun to chase, but has the potential to live with them.

It's time for everyone's favorite game, Guess the Breed!

One of the families who adopted one of our Flower Girl puppies had her DNA tested and the results are in! We still have 3 of the puppies available for adoption, Petal, Magnolia, and Bluebell. Based on their looks, what three breeds do you think make up their DNA?

Hint #1: We guessed they are German Shepherd/Rottweiler mixes, but only one of those is right.
Hint #2: We have their mom, Daffodil, who is also available for adoption. She is the 4th picture. She weighs about 55lbs.

Lucy (left) and BG (right) are two very sweet girls looking for a new home.

Their previous owner passed away and they would love a new family to cuddle up with. They are both about 4 years old.

BG is very outgoing and interactive. She loves everyone and will follow you around the house just happy to be next to you. As soon as you sit down she will be in your lap purring away!

Lucy is a little bit more shy at first, but warms up quickly. As soon as she warms up she will also be a super cuddly girl. She loves butt scratches and will rub up against your leg for pets. She also loves to sleep in the bed with you. These girls are so gentle and sweet they deserve another loving home.

They were great companions for their previous owner while she was sick, and will definitely be great pets for somebody else. These girls are bonded and have been through a lot together, so we are looking for them to be adopted into the same home.

Oh, how we love Bluebell!

This 4-month-old cutie is one of our Flower Girls and we are so surprised she hasn’t been adopted yet. She is the perfect mix of affectionate and independent and always puts a smile on your face with her goofy antics.

She knows no strangers and is quick to cover your face with kisses. She has done great with all the people and dogs she has met and has been raised in a foster home with a cat. She could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years old older.

She is looking for an active home that can provide her with lots of daily physical and mental enrichment. She is a super smart girl and has been doing great with her basic manners training, including her house and crate training.

Bluebell currently weighs around 33lbs and will be at least 70lbs when fully grown, so would do best with a family with large dog experience. Our best guess is she is a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix.

What could be better than enjoying a nice cold beer on a Sunday afternoon? What if we told you puppies would be there?!

Join us this Sunday, July 14th from 2-4pm at Jackrabbit Brewing Company, LLC in West Sacramento for our puppy social event. We will have our remaining German Shepherd mix puppies there along with our block-headed cutie, Charlie. This is going to be such a fun event and we can't wait to see you all there!

Luna was adopted from us 5 years ago and just celebrated her adoptaversary on July 8th! She has been loving life in her forever home and we are beyond happy to hear she is doing great and is so loved.

It's National Kitten Day and the best way to celebrate is by adopting a kitten (or two)!

We have a bunch of adorable, playful, and loving kittens who can't wait to find their fur-ever homes. We have kittens ranging from spunky orange tabbies to elegant all-black kitties. All our adoptable kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, FeLV tested, and up-to-date with their vaccines.

Haaaaaave you met Petal?

Petal is the sweetest girl around and this weekend she got to have a sleepover with one of our foster homes and she did great! She became instant BFFs with the foster's dog and they had such a blast playing together.

The pups got to take a field trip to the UC Davis Vet Med Campus and Petal got to learn her way around the agility course. This girl won't be winning any agility ribbons though, as she is pretty mellow for a pup her age. She loves to romp around but isn't bouncing off the wall with energy like her sisters.

Petal is just over 4 months old and weighs about 30lbs. We estimate she will be at least 70lbs when fully grown, so would do best with a family who has large dog experience. She has done great with all the dogs and people she has met (including kids) and we think she would do well with dog-savvy cats. Our best guess is she is a German shepherd/rottweiler mix.

Five reasons you should adopt Ahi (the black and white cutie):

1. The most obvious reason - she is stinking adorable!
2. She is the perfect medium size (35lbs).
3. She loves other playful dogs. Example A - her cuddling with her foster bro in the picture.
4. She loves all people and will instantly cuddle up with any stranger.
5. She is smart and already is house and crate trained.

This 1.5-year-old lovebug has been with us since October 2023 and we are baffled she has been with us so long. She is the sweetest girl who has done great at all our adoptions events, even ones at breweries and on the UCD campus.

You’ve met Frank, now we’d like to introduce his counterpart, Beans!

Beans is the calmer of the two boys and is happy to chill on the couch with his foster mom after a long day’s work. He is eager for attention and loves to cuddle, but also loves his strolls around the neighborhood.

He has done well with other small dogs and we think he may do well with dog-savvy cats with a proper introduction. He currently lives with kids in his foster home and could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 5 years or older.

We guess that Beans is a Maltese mix as his fur is straight, not curly like Frank’s. He is also estimated to be 4 years old and weighs about 10lbs. He has been doing well with his house and crate training.

luff ball Frank is little Mr. Personality and is a true extrovert who makes friends with everyone he meets. He loves to be the center of attention and believes the more the merrier when it comes to people who can pay attention to him.

Frank was found as a stray with his buddy, Beans, but the pair isn’t bonded and would do well being adopted separately. Both dogs were found in pretty rough shape and were covered in mats and foxtails when they arrived at the shelter. We were able to get them some professional grooming and they are feeling SO much better.

Frank has done well with other dogs and kids, but would do best in a kitty-free home. He seems to be housetrained and has been doing well being crated. He is the more energetic of the pair, but is a moderate energy guy. He is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs about 10lbs.

Keep your furry family members safe this 4th of July!

Here are some tips to keep them safe:
1) It’s going to be hot, so keep them inside with plenty of cool water and soothing tunes.

2) If your pet needs anti-anxiety medication to cope with the fireworks, talk to your vet ASAP.

3) Ensure your pet’s collar has identification.

4) Make sure your microchip registration information is current.

More pets are lost on the 4th than at any other time of the year, so make sure to keep your furry kiddos safe this holiday.

Let’s get Nugget adopted!

Nugget is a 1.5-year-old bundle of fun who had lots of adoption interest when we first posted him, but hasn’t gotten much interest since. He is the sweetest boy and is looking for an active family that can keep up with his always on the go personality. He is the perfect compact size weighing in around 14lbs.

Nugget’s ideal home would have a big yard for him to play in and a family to take him on lots of adventures. He is super smart and food motivated so could be a great little sidekick for someone who wants a dog to train tricks to.

Nugget is house and crate trained.
