Manny, Ch. Karnovanda’s The Sandman, finished his championship in St Clair county a few weekends ago. Many thanks to Gretchen and Tim Conradt for showing him. Manny is out of Ch. Karnovanda’s Fairy Dust (Fay) and sired by Ch. Karnovanda’s The Night Watchman (Night) and owned and loved by Betty Jo Buck.

It took me about 5 months to be able to return to showing dogs after my knee replacement but I can honestly say I’m happy to be back and the knee is feeling pretty darn good at this point and only getting better.
This is our newly finished champion, Caroline, Karnovanda’s Sweet Caroline of Kilvei who is co bred by our good friend Sheila Goffe. Special thanks to Laura King, We day Rollins and Kim Alsbury for helping show her the last weekend while I stayed on Johnny.

A few words from Judy-

Rarely do breeders receive special recognition as we are receiving tonight. I am sure that we all share the surprise and honor at being recognized by AKC as Breeder of the Year in each Group.

I offer each of them my congratulations on their achievements and nomination, as I am honored to be included in their ranks.

I thank the AKC for this humbling award.

In response to the congratulatory messages she has received upon being named AKC’s Breeder of the Year for the Working Group, Judy asked that I post this on her behalf:

I would like to thank everyone for their congratulations. I am attempting to acknowledge all of you individually.

I would also like to give credit to the many people with whom I have worked over these 60 plus years.

To my ex-husband Joel, who helped set the stage for over ten years. Thank you.

To my three children, Andrea, Natalie and Ethan, who grew up in the world of dog shows, sled dog driving, junior handling, and 4-H. Thank you.

To Sarah Hubbach, my assistant and now partner. Thank you.

To Betty Jo Buck, Lee Cera, Barb Horsey, Alex Kiryk, Donna Beckman. Ric Wee, and Sheila Goffe. You are the best friends. Thank you.

There are many other people who have been part of this journey. Without all of you this would not have been possible.

To Lenore Demin, Kendra Ireton, Brenda Valletta, Karen Morin, Sue Maggio, Julia Rylander, Maryl Foster, Cyndi Gottschalk, Beth and Matthew Crooks, Katherine Gardner, John and Kathy Regan, Vickie Cerasaro, Sarah Kujawa, Marc Ralsky and Correen Pacht, Angela and Shane Clifton, Nadja and Jorge Roebin, Helen Hamilton (RIP), Tom Oelscalager (RIP) Brenda Reeves (RIP), Bruce and Joanne Barnes, Delbert Thacker, John Martin, Shannon Strewler, Patricia Abadie, and all of the wonderful pet puppy buyers. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Judy

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. But a lot has gone on since then. I’m currently recovering from a total knee replacement that I had done in June. But in May Karnovanda’s Johnny Bravo was Winners Dog and Reserve Winners dog at the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit Specialty Shows on May 1st.

One of my favorite things to do is give baby puppies their first taste of solid food. They also get their first de-worming at this point as well. We start them off on 80/20 hamburger. It takes only a few minutes to realize this is delicious!! 🥰 Hope you enjoy the video.

Drifter is all grown up! Here he is at 18 months. Such a handsome, yet silly boy. It’s impossible to be mad at him as I usually end up laughing at his antics.

Karnovanda’s The Roadrunner
Roadie is all grown up now! Son of Wylene and Henley, Roadie is as sweet as they come. Roadie lives with our friend Betty Jo in Indiana with his sister Beep. I got an opportunity to take some photos of him while we were all at a dog show together.
I know I haven’t been posting much but it doesn’t mean we haven’t been showing or I haven’t been taking pictures. I have lots to post in the near future. Stay tuned.

Some of you can probably remember the photos I posted of Johnny this winter leaping in the air. Well I finally caught him on two videos catching some air. Here’s the first one (for some reason I can’t upload two together 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Ch. Karnovanda’s Night Flyer
At the beginning of May we were finally able to go to our first dog show of 2021! Michigan is back open and it was wonderful to see friends we haven’t seen in a year! Our first show was the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Detroit Specialties that was held in conjunction with some all breed shows in Chesaning, MI.
Flyer (Karnovanda’s Night Flyer) picked up two majors on Saturday in back to back specialty shows under judges Jim Taylor and Anne Marie Taylor. Flyer went on to pick up his fourth major in Kalamazoo a few weeks later which successfully completed his championship!
Flyer is such a sweet and gentle dog. In the year off from Covid he’s really grown and blossomed into a lovely dog. Way to go Flyer!

A photo drop of Drifter, Wilhelmina and DiDi.
I had some more to post but I’ve misplaced my camera card which is quite distressing. Hopefully I can find it soon. In the meantime ... I think the last time I posted these three was back in early December. Well they’ve grown, as all puppies do. ☺️
Their registered names are

Well it was Flyer’s turn for a photo shoot. I think it’s been about a year since I’ve taken any pictures of him. He’s maturing so nicely. He’s quite the ham and watched me, watching him and taking his picture. Almost as if he was making sure I was capturing the action.
“Are you capturing the action Sarah?”
“Yeah buddy, I’m getting it. Keep it up! I’m loving what I’m getting!”
Last pic is a blooper- last minute turn out before colliding with me 😂
