Horseback riding and ADHD - For years we have thought that the reason horseback riding is beneficial for persons with ADHD was because of the focus required in riding.
In 2021 there was a study testing balance training and its results on ADHD. It turns out that it's the BALANCE exercises that we work on when riding that helps our riders with ADHD.

In April of 2006, an 11-year old Haflinger mare named Lu-Rain walked into our barn. She walked in as if she owned it! Sherlock fell madly in love with her and so did our riders. She eventually became lead mare of the herd, but always gentle and caring with her riders. Today, she crossed the rainbow bridge to join some of our other Haflingers who left before her. (June 2, 1995 - November 23, 2024)

Last night we had our Thanks(for)Giving dinner with our volunteers and paid staff. We are truly blessed to have this wonderful team to work with our therapeutic riding students and the scout troops who earn their horse badges at our barn.
Because of them, we have had a very successful year.

Can you help? We need additional staff over the next few weeks.
We have scouts riding almost every Saturday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in two, two hour sessions. If you (or someone you know) enjoy being around horses, consider joining us for one or more Saturdays to help these youngsters learn more about horses.

Had a great, small group of Cadettes on Saturday. The did an excellent job of riding PJ and Desiree. They also tried out parts of the new/old Horse Sense badge. A retired GS badge that we are working on reviving. Great job by everyone!
