A whole year without posting?! 😱 But I guess that’s what happens when you’re busy.

Talen is now 14 and does the majority of the daytime and a lot of the nighttime duties. I’m still present for over night. But the daily daytime dogs and work take up a ton of my time. The dogs love having him there 24/7, meaning they are never alone ❤️

But how cute is our amazingly sweet new friend Nellie! Her family has always been one of my favorites. I babysat for them often and their kids were always like my own ❤️

Just finished spending a long weekend with this guy! Talen added another bff to his growing list 😂 Meet Ziggy 🐶 I’m sure he was so happy to see his family when they returned. But he sure had fun while they were away ❤️

If there was one thing that we could change to help these beautiful creatures it would be to stop people from saying “leave the fawn alone … it looks fine…the ear tips are not curled,it’s mother will come back”. Well we can tell you this fawn (and many others)are paying with their lives for that advice.

Our hearts break, we cry, we feel helpless, we feel anger that someone could see this happen over days and do nothing. We are upset that people who have no experience or education in fawn rehabilitation post opinions that cost them their life. We have been working for hours trying to save this peanut but it is not looking good. Please note the ears are straight but it’s critical! Curled ear tips DO NOT correlate with the need for intervention.

Please CALL and send a picture to an experienced fawn rehabilitator for information and questions if you see a fawn that you think may be orphaned and they can guide you. DO NOT POST IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA FOR OPINIONS. They can only survive 2-3 days at this age with no mom.

We spent the holiday weekend with 2 of the sweetest babies! Soonie is our angel boy Leo’s brother, who we had watched right after Leo had passed away. His mom and dad ended up saving another dogs life after he passed. Ruby is the biggest baby despite not having had the best start in life ❤️ Safe to say we’re in love.

Albert is in the golden years of his life, and he’s spending them at the shelter in a kennel. His former owners know he’s here, spending lonely nights in a cage about the size of a standard closet, but they declined to come get him. So he waits, day after day. There are no windows to look out and watch the squirrels. There are no pillows or blankets to rest his head on. Sometimes, he feels like there’s no hope, and each day he seems a little sadder. A dog who devoted his whole life to a family doesn’t deserve to be living behind concrete walls. We’re hoping he doesn’t have to much longer.

Albert qualifies for the senior to senior discount, so if you are over 60, Albert would love to go home with you for only the price of a dog license. Message Genesee County Animal Control to meet him.

So sad to say we lost another good boy that was like our own. Poor Moose was only 2 and was one of Talen’s best friends, of course 💔 Our thoughts are with Kyle and the rest of Moose’s family. We will miss you big boy 😪
