The marshals office has extended the drop of window. Please see the original post for important dates

KROGER will allow us to continue accepting donations until 10/4.

Premier Autowire will continue allowing us to collect donations until 10/11 M-F 10am-6pm at 110 Malala Dr behind Fajita Grill.

Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Lanier Commons is collecting donations for us at their location at 3480 Keith Bridge Rd Mon-Sat 9am-6pm and Sun 12pm-5pm.

We will also be accepting donations at the Dawson County Fire and Emergency Services open house at Station 1 this Saturday 10am-2pm.

The supplies will be brought to East TN on 10/13/24 where the Unicoi County Animal Shelter was destroyed by the hurricane.

Thank you to everyone who has been stopping by with supplies for the Dawson County Marshals Office supply drive benefitting animal shelters in Tennessee. We have already had a number of generous donations dropped off here and I also have heard that other drop locations are doing well. The community in and around Dawson County is incredible and we are very grateful to be a part of it!

If you would like to contribute supplies we will be open 10-6 daily for drop offs. The supplies should be leaving the facility Friday night or first thing Saturday to be taken to Tennessee!

Thank you to everyone who has already donated! Here is an updated list of what is needed to rebuild and restock after the destruction of Hurricane Helene in East TN.

Drop-off locations are Premier Autowire from 10am-6pm M-F until 10/11 and Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Lanier Commons during their posted business hours.

UPDATE: Kroger's donation boxes are now full. Please see the other 2 drop-offs or visit us at the Marshals Office to donate.

Hello everyone,

The Dawson County Marshals Office is collecting supplies to aid in the relief of animal shelters affected by the recent hurricane.

If you are interested in contributing we will be offering our reception area as a drop off location for these supplies. We will be collecting donations here from 10am-6pm daily until Friday October 4th.

PET SUPPLIES NEEDED! Some of our neighbors are in need of a helping hand. If you would like to donate pet supplies to an animal shelter that was destroyed in Hurricane Helene, there will be a collection box at Kroger in Dawsonville during their business hours and at Premier Autowire behind Fajita Grill from 10am-6pm. Dog and cat food (wet or dry), towels, blankets, slip leads, shampoo, litter, and toys will all be accepted and will go to affected shelters in East Tennessee. Donations will be taken up to Tennessee on Saturday.

Even if you can't donate, sharing this post helps tremendously!

Really enjoying the CAD learning curve. I need to slightly increase the clearance around the crimper but this is a good first attempt, unfortunately it took 12 hours to print. It’s ok, is worth it

It’s always exciting when we get new tools at the shop, especially anything from dmctoolsusa! What we used to need three different crimpers for now can be completed with this one AF8 while also adding an increased level of accuracy and repeatability to our critical electrical terminations.

Now we can reserve the other tools for quick repairs at the track!

It’s so nice to have the ability to make parts in house on our 3d printer, although not the fastest method, it has come in clutch more times than I can count!

This is a change gear we were missing for our lathe. It’s surprisingly ridged and should have no issue getting the job done!

Out with the old, in with the new! This f150 had a rear differential failure that ended up locking up at high speed causing the driveshaft to sheer into two pieces! We got him set up with a new ring and pinion from yukongearandaxle all new bearing and seals in the rear end and a modified 8.8 limited slip differential from a mustang for that little added performance!

Check out these sweet headers we got back from jethot last week! One issue you’ll run into with big horsepower hot rods is heat, heat in the coolant, oil, intake air track, etc.

One often over looked issue with heat in hotrods is under hood ambient temperatures. This is an issue what will cause a myriad of problems for the driver. As temperatures under the hood increase a number of things happen:

• Intake air temps go up ⬆️ meaning performance goes down ⬇️
• Fuel may boil in low pressure systems like what is typical in carb setups
• Resistance increases in electrical circuits creating a higher than anticipated load⚡️
• Components like connectors and soldered parts may start to melt 🫠

By ceramic coating parts like these massive 2” primary headers we can successfully reduce the ambient temperature under the hood by keeping the heat inside the headers and properly directed out the exhaust. This should make a huge difference for this customer who has had a number of issues of electrical components failing prematurely!
