Day 2 for Maddox
Maddox is a pit mix that came to me for behavioral issues. Fearful but not aggressive, he’s with me to help gain some confidence along with learning how to be a dog in social settings and getting comfortable with public places! He loves Stephanie lol
Jayme’s first official lesson with Broken Oak.
George is slowly getting back into the swing of things. We have him on a few things to help with his weight, plus we were able to set out hay for them! Woot!
Brooks is a retired barrel racer that I’m seriously considering bringing out of retirement. He’s 18 but does not act like it. Today this beast allowed 2 very green girls ride him! And he did so good!
Sponsor horses, Ephraim, and more news
This was our last ride together. He gave his all, taught ME how to run the pattern. He even saved Diane. He gave Gabriel confidence. Everyone fell in love with him and how quiet he was, how eager to please and patient with beginners he was.
He was such an amazing boy. Him and his “yes ma’am “ personality.
It was a great day at Half’n Acre! Everyone got a little bit of love!
When it’s time for bed. The old man is ready to go.
Ares is super independent! He even wants to water himself!
My mom had her first lesson today! Getting this mare ready for kids to ride, and what better way than to toss a complete beginner on her? Lol teasing, I rode her first just to be on the safe side.
We got Wynona back from rehab! We decided to move things along and work in the saddle. She is amazing. This is her first ride with us after being off for years. Gabriel was the one to ride, they have a great bond as well!
So we have been working with Ruby the Friesian for a while now and she is known to buck and pitch a fit. So we tried something new today. She tried some funny business but ultimately she did great! Thank you Kaysie and Derek for your help!
Aspen, a Great Dane puppy (almost 6 months), is learning basic commands. She’s a little stubborn but with love and time, she is learning! She does so well with off leash at the farm and recall is well on its way!
Wynona is an 11 year old Arabian mare that we brought to the property. She is probably 200-300 pounds underweight and has several maintenance related issues due to neglect. She’s a wonderful little mare! Our son will be working to rehabilitate her once we try and get weight on her and get her front hooves corrected. Eventually, she will be available for adoption!
