Please keep an eye on your babies! Having lost Ephraim and nearly losing George to colic, I can’t bear anyone else going through the same!

Maddox is a pit mix that came to me for behavioral issues. Fearful but not aggressive, he’s with me to help gain some confidence along with learning how to be a dog in social settings and getting comfortable with public places! He loves Stephanie lol

George is slowly getting back into the swing of things. We have him on a few things to help with his weight, plus we were able to set out hay for them! Woot!

Welp. 2022 has proven to be quite a year in the early days. I lost my seat twice today. First one was stupidity on my part and the other was just downright weird. And for the second one, I was bucked off so… that’s my excuse.

Brooks is a retired barrel racer that I’m seriously considering bringing out of retirement. He’s 18 but does not act like it. Today this beast allowed 2 very green girls ride him! And he did so good!

Ok, whose done it?

Hand on heart, I never have. Not saying I wouldn't, because I totally would but it's never occurred to me.

I'm more the 'grab a handful of mane' kind of girl.

Hey all! As you might have noticed, a change had been made! While CS is still focusing on BOTH horses and dogs, a name change was in order. Broken Oak is going to maintain a goal of helping horses, dogs and two-leggeds with confidence building, therapy and behavior correction! Our mission remains the same!

Sponsor horses, Ephraim, and more news

11/08/2021

I am reaching out to gauge interest in sponsoring the horses we have! This would include videos, pictures, you come out and care for them, learn about them and even ride (if the horse is able to be ridden). The funds from sponsorship will go to food, vet care, farrier work and anything else the horses may need. Thoughts?

This was our last ride together. He gave his all, taught ME how to run the pattern. He even saved Diane. He gave Gabriel confidence. Everyone fell in love with him and how quiet he was, how eager to please and patient with beginners he was.

He was such an amazing boy. Him and his “yes ma’am “ personality.

One of our Unicorns grew wings today. With an incredible about of sadness, it pains me to say that Ephraim has crossed the rainbow bridge. This is a huge shock to us, as he appeared fine last night. He was a fantastic horse, always there for us when we needed. He was a huge puppy dog and wanted to do nothing but love on you. The vet confirmed that it was colic and he was in shock. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do for him as he was seventeen.

He deserved a better way to go. He deserved a longer life filled with green pastures and quiet days. He deserved to grow old and get loves all day every day. He taught Diane, Steph, Gabriel and numerous others how to be confident in the saddle and what a relationship with a horse was like.

I’m devastated.

So I have been cooped up for a few days without being able to see my horses due to a cold that kicked my butt. Finally, yesterday, I decided to go for a short trail ride. Well. 16 miles and 8 hours later…. Lol needless to say, it was fun. I’m still not 100% and I can feel it today. But today it’s time for the celebration of life.
