I don’t know how to tell you all how much each interaction meant to me during the last two years.
Whether it was being tagged in a story showing how excited you were about one of our products, liking a post and encouraging us to keep creating, or supporting the many collections we poured our hearts into. You showed up for us and we are forever grateful!
I have grown as a maker (Jess was the sole sewist for our first year until their body needed a break and I learned how to produce the same high quality goods yall came to expect from CS) and as a person. The last year has been very difficult for us as we’ve been trying to navigate a thriving business as two disabled people who have very little supports in their life. We’ve been feeling the aches of our “growing pains” since 2023. I neglected my health and ended up in a mental hospital for a week this December. It’s hard to accept that as hard as I have tried, I just can’t make this business work long term. I’m trying to remind myself that we didn’t fail and that I *have* to prioritize rest. I haven’t been very kind to myself and I want to change that.
We accomplished more than I dreamed we could with Citrine Sunrise. Our products have been sold in three(!) retail locations. We vended at incredible markets and seeing people light up over our designs made me feel a sense of pride and joy I didn’t know I could feel. We’ve had customers who turned into friends. We got to make REALLY cool pride gear for our q***r family! We donated over $200 to aid in relief for Palestine. We met SO MANY AMAZING DOGS.
When I feel sad about closing our “doors” I try to remember all the good that came of us chasing this dream. There has been so much good. 🥹 We love you!
