We are in full swing for our Holiday season. This does mean appointments are limited, if you don't have one or need to change yours. As a reminder we will be closed for Thanksgiving weekend.

As we move into the colder months, skunks are more active and fleas are seeking warm host. Unfortunately that warm host is your dog. If you do not have them on preventative, now is the time. Fleas are becoming more resistant to anything OTC. The OTC product working is the Seresto Flea Collar. Otherwise you'll need to speak to your vet. Keep in mind, fleas live on wildlife like ground hogs, squirrels, opposums, and bunnies.

As for skunks, if your pup gets sprayed by a skunk, DON'T wet that dog! When you wet the dog, it opens the hair follicles and pores, which allows the skunk oils to seep in and it will take months to remove as the skin and coat cycle out. We do have a wonderful deskunking treatment and are available after hours via messenger or text.

Did you know we offer coloring services? Typically it is just for ears, mohawks, tails, and feet. I dyed my personal dog yesterday a bit more on her legs. If this is something you would like to do. Message us and we will discuss all the options!

Hello Valued Clients,

While we have kept very busy and overbooked, unfortunately it is barely enough to keep the business from going out of business. When I bought out this place from the previous groomer, there were a lot of repairs and updating that needed to be done. I also adopted her pricing scale. Unfortunately that will not sustain the business I have set out for.

Here at Pooch Pawlor, we try to be one-on-one as well as provide luxury products for your dogs skin and coat needs. Both of these come at a higher premium. With this being said, all pricing will increase 25% January 1st. We will be providing everyone with an estimated quote on their services as you come in.

These ornaments take time to make and cure (up to 3 weeks), so they are pre-sale only. If you are interested in ornaments, let us know which one(s) you would like asap.

Additionally, has we move into the holiday season, it will become harder to reschedule appointments due to the amount of time we are taking off. If we do need to reschedule, your dog(s) will be booked with other appointments and will take longer as they are being worked in.

Scrappy, a 7 month old Portuguese Water Dog, came in today for a big makeover. After he was done, him and Lambo, my 3 month old Afghan Hound puppy, wanted to play.

The Holiday Season is fast upon us. As a groomer, that season has already started. Family gatherings and Seasonal Events that coincide with the Holidays require us to adjust our schedules. Please see the picture to view our list of dates we will be closed.

Temperature changes mean the stinky black and white cats are more active and your dog may decide to play with one, or even roll on something dead. Did you know we have wonderful products here to help that stinky dog? We will always do day of or after hours (messaging by fb or text) baths for an additional fee.

If your does get sprayed and you cannot get ahold of us. Here's what you can do:

DO NOT GET THE DOG WET!!! If you do, it will open all the pores and the oil from the skunk will stay in the pores for months up to over a year.

○Make a paste out of dawn and baking soda.
○ Apply to dry dog. Normally head and shoulders.
○ Carefully apply hydrogen peroxide to the areas you applied the paste. Be cautious around eyes and mouth.
○ Let sit for 10 - 15 minutes
○ Rinse out

Doing this will help break down the oils from the skunk. If the smell still persist, send us a message or call to get them in for a full deskunking bath.

As always trying our best to make this place the most calming day spa it should be. Thank you to our Scentsy Consultant Heather Carr for helping us purchase a wonderful oil diffuser to put the Pet Safe Essential Calming Oil in. She also showed us this wonderful warmer that fits our facility perfectly. Along with some waxes that will hopefully not be too much for our clients. We have purchased some more waxes that will be here later. If you are interested in the Pet Safe Essential Calming Oil, please let me know.

Today is a day of reflection. Please join us as we look at the Pooch Pawlor stats for 2023. It was a year of many changes and you all stuck with us. We can't thank our clients enough for such a successful year. May 2024 be another forward positive year for us all.
