Spring is here! As the weather gets nicer and we spend more time outside with our families and animals, we need to be Aware of our surroundings! Loose dogs ( usually pets) are a big problem where I live. I'll see more than a hundred running loose on my street alone every year. Today one of these loose pets (German Shepherd) thought he would go after my birds when he saw them, luckily I was paying attention and was able to "change his mind" before he got close enough to them. My bird Red, is the only survivor of a neighborhood flock that was wiped out by a dog of an irresponsible owner that had gotten loose several times. Just about everything if given the opportunity will kill a chicken, you can't change that - however we can limit that opportunity. So stay vigilant, stay aware and let's all enjoyed this summer safely with all our feathers intact!

NO Roosters were hurt from this! These birds are NOT bred or kept for fighting! Fighting ANY Animal for ANY Reason is WRONG and we in no way support such practices! These birds are kept for breeding, pets/companion animals and food. And little squabbles happen with brothers and birds that are raised together, they "fight and fuss" with each other continuously over a number of things that determine hierarchy in a flock. That's why it's called a "Pecking Order" and everybody wants to be the Head Pe**er!

I understand that most of the world will view my video and pics of Vic, the rooster that laid an egg, as hoax or a lie or anything other than true. And I get that! I went to half dozen professionals, heads of their department in Agriculture/Farming, Professors and Exotic Veterinarians and ALL have read about it and/or heard of it but never seen it - until now. The only way to scientifically prove this at this point would be dissection of the animal, and that is not something I'm willing to do! And not because of what he appears to be but because I believe it to be wrong. One day when he/she dies I will have the autopsy then. Until then, enjoy the conversation and understand that this condition is medically documented as a truth. They know it can happen, they just haven't seen it- till now. The condition is called"Sex Reversal" look it up, but don't believe in the Odds of this happening - The Answer may Surprise You 😳🤔!
