Every two years SCWTCA holds a Roving National Specialty. This allows breeders in different parts of the country the ability to exhibit their Wheaten Terriers at a National Specialty. This year our Roving National Specialty is being held in Louisville Kentucky. The weekend begins on March 14th and continues through our special day, St Patrick's Day. This year also celebrates the formation of a new local club, the Ohio River Valley SCWT Club. We hope you will join us that weekend. This building is called a double decker Sundowner with 34 pens. Each pen can hold 3++ dogs (depending on the dog size and according to USDA size standards). So, about 100 dogs could live their entire lives in this building, making puppies for pet stores and for direct sale over the internet. When they can no longer produce a profit, they are disposed of. Their only time outside is in their small wired outdoor cages. This is all to USDA standards, and it is legal, but it's not right. 🙁

The Wheaten Nationals at Montgomery didn’t disappoint. We had a great time with friends and fellow show breeders. This is our time to plan, research, and put our eyes and hands on some of the top Wheatens in the country. We are always planning our future show dog. Congrats to all of the winners and thank you to everyone who took the time to share your time and hugs for Lola.

Lola had a great time with new friends and even got over her car sickness. She will hopefully see you next year.
