Update: Penny ended up not being pregnant. Daisy had her puppies yesterday! She had 5, but sadly one was stillborn. She has 2 males and 2 females.

What a crazy week it’s been, and will be for another week yet. Both my breeding girls, Daisy and Penny, have gone into heat at the same time. To say my home is a mad house is an understatement. Howling, whining, barking, fighting - complete chaos, breeding is not for the weak. Hahah 🤪🐾
Good news is that come late August I should have two litters of puppies (going home by end of October)😊
In the meantime, enjoy some photos of my water loving dogs 😊

With a heavy heart, I share that the tiny puppy passed on. I’m heartbroken. She was a fighter. Hydro babies are unpredictable, they could outgrow it or it could take their lives when you least expect it. Penny’s litter was all too premature, we are lucky she got to live this long and we got to enjoy her big personality. We will miss her 🫶🏻

Hi everyone, prayer requests for the tiny girl survivor. I’ve suspected for awhile that she’s a hydro baby. Luckily she had put on weight and haven’t seen any seizures. She tries to run and occasionally falls over. It’s like she does have something mildly wrong with her brain and it puts her off balance sometimes. She has been doing really well got to 9 oz. But yesterday she was more sleepy, thought she was growing. Today she’s so light and lethargic 😭 she’s lost 2 oz. I’m not sure what’s going on. She’s stopped nursing on mama, for some odd reason. I’m hand feeding her.
Asking for prayers, she is so full of life usually it’s so sad to see her like this. 😭😭🙏🏻

💙 Romeo went home today. He’s the best little guy, so calm, and so sweet. He will be missed, we take comfort in knowing we found him a great home! His parents are are from Cincy, since they are close we’ve already made plans for me to dog sit 😊

Update: This little tricolor girl is still hanging on, but she’s a slow grower! She reached a week old on Monday. Today she is 1 week and 5 days old and only weighs 3.1oz. She was born at 2.5oz. Most of my dogs have at least doubled their weight by the 2nd week.
Her one eye is starting to open.

The puppies had their first vet check and vaccinations. They are perfect 😍 7 weeks old.

This poor baby boy did not make it, despite our efforts to help supplement him. Sometimes the puppies are too early and haven’t developed properly, I believe it had some sort of oxygen issue as well, maybe lungs under developed which didn’t help with feeding. Poor little guy.
We just have her one female left. She’s not losing weight but she’s not gaining either, fluctuates between 2.5 and 2.6oz. She is stronger and has a strong suckle reflex. I’ve shaved Mama down more to help the baby find the milk easier. Let’s hope she makes it 💕

Good morning all.
Yesterday around 1am Penny started labor. Her first puppy out was still born, he was underdeveloped and 1.8oz, it’s so sad he would have been her first Merle pup. Her second puppy came quickly, he is black sow at 2.8oz. Her third puppy a black tricolor girl at 2.5oz. These are the smallest pups she’s ever had, they are early babies. I’ve been closely monitoring them.
The male, I didn’t think would survive the night, he wasn’t warming up or staying pink, and he cried on and off constantly. There was some hope as he did small gains, but has lost more than he’s gained and he still hasn’t reached birth weight. The female pups is staying pretty steady around her birth weight, but still not staying above it.
Just asking for some positive thoughts and prayers. Penny is a very dedicated Mom, I believe she alone has kept that male alive. I’m letting her lead. It’s best for the first 48 hours that they receive mothers first milk as it’s full of colostrum and nutrients. By tomorrow if he doesn’t gain enough, then I will step in with milk replacer formula and try and feed him. The issue with early babies is that they haven’t fully developed the suckling reflex. Makes feeding difficult and gaining weight challenging. It’s not just about weight, it’s about energy. They move more than you think, so they are burning energy, they need to eat enough to replenish what they have lost and to still gain more to grow and develop.
I sure hope these babies make it. Penny is beside herself with worry.

Miss Poppy is still 👀. She has beautiful blue eyes and a very outgoing fun personality! Everyone who meets her loves her ❤️.
But! She has developed a Cherry eye and I am making a vet appt first thing in the morning. I have never had a puppy have one, so this is new to me. I sadly think it may require surgery but I believe that can’t happen until she is 4 months of age 😞 Hoping for better news at the vet. Poor baby.

Peter is now called Pedro, he went home this weekend. Met a flight Nanny at the Cincy airport and he made it safely to Arizona. 💙

The puppies are 7 weeks old now. Only one one left is Poppy. Poppy is the most outgoing one, the others are starting to gain more and more confidence each day. I love to watch them learn and grow. 💙💗💗

Peter, Piper and Poppy are 5 weeks old 💙💗💗 I took them outside for a supervised excursion. There was an adjustment period of them being unsure but they adapted quickly and really enjoyed it. Next step is to get them to follow the pack outside to go potty 😊

Socialization is key to a confident non happy well behaved dog. I took Pumba to Petsmart today, getting some car ride time in and learning new socialization skills with, new smells, new people, new sights, and new sounds. He was quite popular ☺️ He even told me when he had to potty, he whined to get down and went potty 🥰

💙💙These boys will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. I can’t believe they haven’t been snatched up. But that’s ok we just adore them and will keep them for as long as we can. 😊🥰

💙Dewy is 7 weeks old and he is small. I’ve not had one be this small at this age. 1lb 4.8 oz charting under 4lbs. He’s a little more reserved at first but opens up quickly. He’s such a lovey puppy. I just adore his sweet face and demeanor. He is 👀🏡 check out my gooddog.com page for more details.
