Chloe didn't waste a single moment making herself at home in her foster family’s care. In no time at all, she went from shy and fearful in her kennel to a total couch potato, snuggling up for some well-deserved cuddle time and playing happily with her furry foster siblings.
We’re so grateful they gave her the chance to shine! Without the loving environment a foster provides, we may never have seen this side of Chloe.

Meet Cat of the Month, Ollie!
Does your cat need a friend? It just so happens, Ollie needs one, too! He can usually be found hanging out in a cubby hole or following his roommates' lead, and he hasn't met another cat he doesn't like. At the same time, he isn't pushy if another cat doesn't immediately want to be his friend. As a bonus feature, Ollie has some of the cutest round cheeks we've ever seen! With the support of the Joanie Bernard Foundation and The Houtz Family Foundation, we held our first Community Veterinary Clinic of 2025! Thank you to our volunteers, staff, students from the Sinclair College Vet Tech program, and Dr. Wells from Scratching Post Cat Hospital & Retreat for helping us provide care for 90 cats and their families! Without all of your help, this clinic could not be possible.

This Wednesday Wags pup is our very own Zari, and she’s sure to tug at your heartstrings! If you've got a soft spot for a senior pup, we've got the sweetest girl just waiting for you! Zari was found wandering as a stray in Kentucky, but it's clear she's accustomed to a life full of love. She likes treats, tennis balls, but most of all, she LOVES being pet. She will happily fish-wiggle her way over to you, booty-bump your leg, and lean into you for full body pets any time. Zari needs a few mass removals (which SICSA will take care of) and is looking for a foster home or adopter to give her a comfy place to recover after her surgery. We had a blast attending the Dayton Flyers Basketball game yesterday with our friends from Pella Windows and Doors! For each home game rebound that UD scored, Pella donated to a charity or organization of their choosing! We were so honored to be chosen and can't thank you enough for your support and your donation that will help us continue to save lives.

Meet Ally from Francis Kennels ! This cutie Border Collie / Cattle dog mix has lived with male and female medium-large breed dogs and done great with both. She loves kids, loves to fetch, and would be a great running buddy! Ally is right around 40 pounds and is 6 years old. She has gone through formal training with a local dog trainer and is ready to continue classes with her new family if desired. Ally’s forever home needs to have a physical fence, and she would love a big yard to chase tennis balls! 🎾 You can apply for Ally at www.franciskennels.com

SICSA is excited to host The PET Gala: The Art of Community in collaboration with our friends at Artemis Center, Therapeutic Riding Institute, Inc., and Miami Valley Meals. This pet-friendly cocktail party and art exhibition will showcase our partnerships with these incredible organizations and how we all work together to serve the pets and people throughout the Greater Dayton area and beyond. Guests can enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres from Salt Block Biscuit Company, themed cocktails, unique experiences, and stunning artwork from artists both local and throughout the country.

All donations and silent auction proceeds from the evening will be split amongst all participating nonprofits, so join us for an exciting evening supporting four great causes!

Check out Dipper rocking his green Tractive GPS collar! You may remember us posting about Dipper when he escaped from his foster home back in December. It was a freak accident to no one’s fault, and thankfully he was safely caught the next evening…but we weren’t about to let him get away with giving us all a heart attack again! Dipper’s Tractive collar allows us to pinpoint his location so we can more easily locate him if he tries to pull another fast one. You hear that, Dippydoo? We’ve got our eyes on you.

Huge shoutout to Tractive for providing SICSA with two free trackers PLUS two years of a premium tracking subscription. We’re excited to utilize these when we send known flight-risk dogs out with our foster caregivers. Our volunteers and fosters are provided training and equipment to help keep pets safe when they go off-site, but occasional accidents are still bound to happen! These tracking devices add the extra level of safety that we were looking for. We’ve been using these collars for a couple months already with excellent results, and are thankful to Tractive for supporting our foster pup’s safety!
