This is Ruckus’ intro to barn hunt. First step is to intro them to rat to see if they have interest. Learns to smell and I'd them. BTW, this is as exposed to them as they ever get. Rats are protected by the AKC. Normally they are in thick pvc tubed with holes. These are hidden in an area of hay bales. The dog has a certain time limit and the handler 1 chance to call "rat " when they believe the dog has found the rat. Trials get harder with more hidden rats etc. They get titles. Her next step in this class was to go around the ring of hay and get accustomed to it. Then a rat in tube is hidden and they go in and hunt it.
