If you are bringing fish for trade, please call ahead to see if we have room to take in your fish, please bring enough water for your water , so if your water is different from ours.
If you do not call ahead I can't promise I can accept your fish
We only have so much room for trade-in every week, as we quarantine for a week in its own tank.

PUBLIC NOTICE

CITY OF HOLLY HILL

WATER CUSTOMERS

Due to an equipment failure, The City of Holly Hill Water Treatment Plant began our semi-annual chlorine flush two months early. This is a temporary change in the drinking water systems disinfection process. This change began July 14, 2024 and will continue through August 05, 2024.

This involves changing the disinfectant treatment currently used in the water treatment plant from chloramines to free chlorine. During this period, free chlorine will be maintained throughout the water distribution system while we conduct a thorough flushing of all the water mains. This procedure is normally done to improve the quality of water we supply and is recommended by the Department of Environmental Protection. We are taking advantage of this time to repair and replace the necessary equipment.

People using Dialysis treatment should contact their physician.

Tropical fish owners should contact their pet supply.

During this period the water continues to be of the highest quality and totally safe to drink. Customers may experience a slight difference in the taste and odor of the water as a result of the alternate disinfectant used.

Peacocks and Haps.

A beautiful group of Tropheus dubosii. These are a beautiful species from Lake Tanganyika. They usually max out in the 4-5" range. Juveniles of this fish, sport a black base with white polka dots. As they mature they lose the spots and develop a yellow/ white band.

Got a great video of a pair of Jack Dempseys in the middle of spawning in the shop.

We currently have a lovely tank of Zebra Obliquidens. A beautifully colored fish from Lake Victoria. Males sport vibrant red & yellow a long the flank with blue on the face. The females will range from a gray/silver to goldish color.

I held off on messing with these Turkana Jewels aka Rubricatochromis exsul because we always had our Lifalilli Jewels out here. This right here is the first batch we have received and all I can say is WOW they are nice! The red is SOO Vibrant! Definitely a species we will have to keep in stock. We are closed today but will be back open Thursday 12:30-6:00.

You probably have heard of Silver Dollars. The one in the video is another type of silver dollar. This species is known as a Blackberry Silver Dollar. We are here until 6:00pm tonight.

Happy Thursday Everybody! Check out this beast of a Synodontis catfish. Here is a 9-10" Synodontis decorus aka Clown Synodontis. To me they are one of the prettiest Synodontis. Out of all the ones that have come through these tanks; this is the biggest I have personally seen. I have read that they have been seen as big as 12". In the wild they are found on the West Coast of Africa. We have this big one as well as quite a few different sizes.

We have a small group of Aequidens diadema available at the moment. This is a stunning medium sized South American cichlid. Most males will grow to around 4-5" and females slightly smaller. They are overall considered a fairly peaceful fish but can show aggression during breeding or territorial disputes.
