CONGRATULATIONS FRIDAY!

We are so thrilled to announce the amazing news for sweet FRIDAY!

FRIDAY came to us last Saturday after his beloved owner went into hospice care. At 11 years old, FRIDAY had spent most of his life living as a companion to a senior gentleman, but for several weeks prior to coming to us, he had been living all alone in his home. It was clear this gentle soul needed a loving and supportive place to settle.

We immediately put out a plea for an emergency foster home, and were so grateful when our wonderful friend Bob stepped up to offer his help. We picked FRIDAY up and delivered him to Bob’s home, and from the moment he arrived, it was clear how much FRIDAY appreciated the comfort of being with someone again. He wasted no time making friends with Bob’s dog, Marcus, and his cat, Claire.

Then, two days ago, we received the most heartwarming news — Bob reached out to let us know that FRIDAY has settled in beautifully, is bringing joy to his home, and that he wanted to make him a permanent member of his family.

Today, we made it official! 💕 We drove up to Bob’s to celebrate this new chapter in FRIDAY’s life and officially welcomed him to his forever home.

Congratulations, FRIDAY! You’ve found the most amazing family, and we couldn’t be happier for you. Welcome to your forever home! ❤️

CONGRATULATIONS FINN!

We are beyond excited to share some wonderful news with you all! A month ago, FINN came to us with his older brother PETEY and little sister FIA after their mom tragically passed away. In that short time, FIA was adopted right away, and PETEY found his perfect family just last week. But today… it’s FINN’S day!

FINN is used to being part of a big, loving pack of 5 dogs, and he’s also fantastic with cats! Knowing he would thrive in a home with other friendly animals and people who can be patient with a nervous little chihuahua mix, we knew we needed the perfect match for him. And that’s when Courtney & Matt came into the picture!

Their application made us so hopeful! They live less than half a mile away from work and are home often. With 3 small dogs (Felix, Harper, and Ruby), 3 cats (Tucker, Lucy, and Isis), and a 4-month-old animal-loving daughter named Saoirse, this family is exactly what FINN needed. Courtney & Matt have plenty of experience with nervous chihuahuas and, more importantly, ginormous chihuahua-loving hearts. Their animals are truly their world!

For the past month, we’ve been telling FINN that his mama up in heaven would guide us to the perfect forever home for him — and today, we couldn’t be more certain that she did.

When we arrived this morning, FINN was a little nervous, but he was calm and allowed both Courtney and Matt to hold him (huge progress because he had been nervous around men in his foster home). All of the dogs AND the cats greeted him warmly, and after we left, Matt took him on his first walk around the new neighborhood.

We’re thrilled to report that FINN is settling in beautifully! Courtney told us he loved his walk and even enjoyed his first treat — clear signs that he’s feeling comfortable and loved.

Welcome home, FINN! 🐾❤️ You’ve found the perfect family. and we couldn't be happier for you!

CONGRATULATIONS SELINA & TEGAN!

Teen mom SELINA and her daughter TEGAN came to us in early January. They had been living outside at a condo complex when a Good Samaritan had the decency to bring them inside, but because there were large dogs in the home that were not cat-friendly, SELINA & TEGAN were forced to live in a large dog crate. Our friend Jennifer heard about their situation and was able to get them to us so they would be safe.

SELINA was very friendly, but little TEGAN was shy. They needed a quiet home where they could relax and feel safe.

We were so excited when we received Dawn's application, because she lives alone, is home most of the time, and was looking for a young mother-daughter pair to rescue. She has a beautiful home with large sunny windows, and each one provides something interesting to look at, including bird feeders.

We delivered the girls on Wednesday morning and they have settled in very nicely. SELINA, now called MYA is out & about and already sleeping on the bed with Dawn. Baby TEGAN, now called ZOEY, is coming around at her own pace, but she has her brave mommy to show her the way.

We'll post a photo of them together in their new home below in the comments.

HAVE THE BEST LIFE EVER MYA & ZOEY! You are so lucky to have found such an amazing home.

Happy Monday from OPAL! She’s our (not so little anymore) FIP warrior and she has just about completed her 120 days post-treatment observation period.

She’ll be going back to the vet next week for follow up bloodwork to see if she’s ready for adoption.

This adorable boy has been with us for several weeks with no adoption applications! His brother PETEY and sister FIA have been adopted, yet FINN is still waiting for his person to notice him so PLEASE SHARE!

FINN came in with 2 other dogs (PETEY & FIA) at the beginning of February after their mother passed away, but needed to get cleared medically before he could be posted for adoption. (He broke his leg back in October and needed a follow up exam and x-rays to make sure his leg was healing properly post-surgery. We are happy to report that he has healed perfectly and he’s cleared to get on with his life.)

FINN is 3.5 years old (DOB 08.03.2021), 10 lbs, some kind of chihuahua mix and he’s super sweet! He is good with other dogs and cats, but does best with smaller dogs his size or super chill larger dogs. FINN is used to living in a pack of 5 dogs with a single woman.

He’s a bit shy with men and it takes him some time to warm up to them. He rides great in the car and loves to go for walks. He would love a work from home or retired woman to adopt him and love him. Other animals aren’t necessary as long as you’re home most of the time. Otherwise he’ll need a friend.

FINN is fully vetted, microchipped, and ready to go. He’s being fostered in New Milford, CT.

If you're interested please go to passion4paws.org/adopt to submit an online application to adopt a dog.

BEIYA UPDATE: BEIYA, now BEI BEI, BEILAN, still BEIYA (cuz we misgendered him at naming and now we’re losing our minds because she is a HE!

Anyhoo, BEI BEI is still recovering from his multifaceted upper respiratory condition. He’s better - no more goopy eye, but when he sneezes…get out your rain coat.

But, all that aside, here he is hanging with his foster daddy. He is the sweetest cat we have ever met and he loves dogs and cats.

Meet FRIDAY! This sweet boy was surrendered to us because his dad has gone into hospice. FRIDAY had been living alone in his home for a couple of weeks and needed somewhere safe to go.

We put out a plea for an emergency foster and were thrilled when our friend. Bob reached out and offered to take him.

FRIDAY went to the vet this week for a much needed senior exam and while his bloodwork looks good, he is positive for both Lyme and Anaplasmosis. We will be treating him for that and then he will be available for adoption.

FRIDAY is an 11 or 12 year old wire haired terrier. He weighs 15 lbs 10 oz. He's a good boy and does well with other dogs and cats.

FRIDAY is accustomed to living in a quiet home with an older gentlemen, so we're thinking a quiet home without some children running round would be best for him.

He is in desperate need of a bath and grooming, which will happen this week once he's settled, but he did let us brush him and he already looks better.

CONGRATULATIONS TUCKER!

We pulled TUCKER out of the Hartford Pound last month after he was found wandering the streets in the freezing cold.

His fur was severely matted, his teeth rotten and he had two infected fistulas in his mouth causing him tremendous pain.

It was obvious he had not been well cared for previously, but at some point somebody had loved him because even with all that pain he was just the sweetest boy.

After he healed from his dental where he lost 14 teeth his personality really started to emerge. It's so beautiful to see him happy and playing now.

TUCKER is great with people, other dogs and cats, and today he finally made the journey to his forever home with Liz and Patrick and their two cats. (His adoption was supposed to happen last weekend but got delayed because of the storm.)

We have to thank Kim (his first foster mom) for spotting him at the Hartford Pound and letting us know he was there, ACO Sherry, Shannon for helping us get him out of the Pound and keeping him for a night, Meg & Melissa for fostering him after his surgery, and everyone who donated to his care and fell in love with his sweet face.

HAVE THE BEST LIFE EVER TUCKER! We know you are already spoiled.

PETEY came to us a few weeks back with his sister FIA and his brother FINN after their mom passed away unexpectedly.

PETEY went to live with our foster Kim and her crazy crew of dogs. PETEY was used to living in a large pack of dogs so he transitioned into Kim's pack with ease.

He is such a sweet boy, and Kim knew immediately that PETEY would be a perfect fit for her friend Eva and her two dogs Piper, 9 and Franky, 6 so she arranged for them to meet on Tuesday and it was a brilliant success!

We are pleased to announce that yesterday PETEY moved into his forever home and is doing great!

HAVE THE BEST LIFE EVER PETEY! We know your mommy in heaven has been looking out for you and had a hand in finding you this amazing home where you will be safe and loved for the rest of your days.

On Monday we shared that this adorable soul BEAR was taken to the vet to be euthanized because his “owner” didn’t want him anymore.

Luckily the vet refused to kill a perfectly fabulous dog simply because his owner didn’t want him, so after reaching out to a rescue friend of ours, BEAR came to us.

This morning we took him to see Dr Trish at Aspetuck Animal Hospital LLC. He needs significant medical attention, because, surprise surprise, aside from the vet who was commissioned to kill him, he’s never seen a vet except once for a leg injury.

BEAR is a 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier weighing 7 lbs 15 oz.

His mouth is completely rotten and infected. He is scheduled for a dental with extractions and a neuter at the same time for Tuesday, 3/4/2025.

BEAR has a mildly collapsed trachea so he must wear a harness. NO COLLARS!

His bloodwork looks great and we’ve taken images of his stomach and chest, including the trachea.

He’s a super sweet pup, good with all the other animals he’s met (a bunny, multiple dogs and cats) and he’s house broken!

Today’s visit was $616.57. The dental with extractions and neuter will probably run around $2,000-$2,500.

He will be available as soon as his vetting is complete. Go to passion4paws.org/adopt to submit an online application to adopt a dog.

He’s currently hovering between New Milford and Waterbury, but may move to Middletown for a couple of weeks until surgery because all of our volunteers are fighting over who gets to foster him…😝
