Our sweet little Georgia crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. She was my little sidekick through so many transitions in life. She loved everyone. The sweetest dog. Faithful little companion. Her aging had caused complete blindness and her little body was just ready to go but these things are never easy. She left a huge hole in our heartsšŸ’”

In January 2024 I planted some ā€œCrazy Daisyā€ seed. Little did I know that I would be waiting almost a year and a half to see blooms from this plant! I was so disappointed when they didn’t bloom last summer. I’m thinking they were worth the wait! They will bloom May-October 🌼 Also pictured are Yarrow and Blue Salvia that I started at the same time. They bloomed last summer but they are huge this year and just full of blooms!

Garden update! Everything seems to have recovered from the hail damage and is really thriving now. This year I’m focusing on my veggies again. I planted white and sweet potatoes, green beans, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, corn, eggplant, spaghetti squash, honey nut squash, watermelon, pumpkins, onions, garlic, horseradish, cucumbers , carrots, strawberries, asparagus and too many herbs to mention. I also planted dahlias, Ammi, celosia, sunflowers, stock, snapdragons, Mexican sunflowers, zinnias, marigolds, and gomphrena to make bouquets all summer long. Somehow I don’t think I actually downsized or simplified my garden this year like I planned! The garden plan just kept growing and the excitement of it all caused me to plant the biggest summer garden ever😳🤣

While we were in Belize, Jamey had a bad allergic reaction to a fly bite. I’m talking instant swelling of his whole hand and extending up his arm. He had to take Benadryl and Zyrtec the rest of the trip. It occurred to me when we were flying home that I should have given him some Plantain Salve to put on it. I had it packed in my checked bag so we had to wait until we got home. After only ONE treatment on his bite with the Plantain Salve all the swelling went away and no more pain or itching! Our Mission pastor also was stung by ants when we first arrived and I had her put some on when we went in the house. A couple days later I asked how her bites were and they never blistered or bothered her at all like they usually do. Just saying- anyone can make this Plantain Salve and it’s in everyone’s yard. Just google how to make it- quick and easy and it just takes a small amount. I’ve used it on bites, stings and cuts and just amazed at the results so thought I’d share!
