Welcome Tiana to our team! She is the new friendly face at our front desk!

Tiana’s love for animals led her down a career path that consisted of pet sitting, veterinary technician assistance, and kennel work at boarding facilities and the animal shelter. Her work at the animal shelter inspired her to become an officer for the voiceless at Douglas County Animal Services Department. Through the animal control experience, Tiana quickly realized the reason many animals end up in shelters was due to their lack of training. Through all of the difficult animal control cases, she gained the compassion, patience, and skills necessary to help both dogs and their families sustain a more feasible and peaceful way of life as a dog trainer. Being a dog trainer meant handling a lot of client communication and customer service, which fully prepared Tiana for the transition to the position of our client service coordinator.
Outside of work, Tiana enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Dashun, and their motley crew of pets: Bear the Australian Kelpie, Levi the Pit Bull mix, Jarvis the young Kelpie/Bully mix and their tripod cat Gambit.

We have a new teammate to welcome! Meet Hailey, our new vet assistant/receptionist!

Hailey’s compassion and interest in the care and wellness of animals began early. She became inspired while working as an animal care technician in high school, and pursued a career in veterinary medicine. She has since been involved in large and small animal care for 10 years.

An avid equestrian, she has competed in local, state, and intercollegiate hunter/jumper competitions on her horse, Beau.

With the addition of Rango, her Australian Shepherd, to her family, she began learning and developing her pup’s skills in various dog sports, including fast CAT and agility. These personal interests and pursuits created a passion that focused her knowledge on mobility, performance, endurance, and rehabilitation in both the canine and equine fields.

She graduated in 2019 from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA and earned her undergraduate degree in biology. After graduation, she moved to South Carolina and worked for 4 years in equine sports medicine and rehabilitation.

Hailey’s quiet and easygoing demeanor allows for clients and patients to feel comfortable and confident during their visit at RVM. Her hands on experience in therapy services and passion for animal rehab and fitness provides the knowledge and skill to assist in all aspects of a patients mobility.

Hailey returned to the Atlanta area with her husband, Jonathan, and spoiled pup Rango. Hailey continues to ride as often as she can and they all enjoy their time attending dog sporting events, hiking, and watching the Atlanta Braves.

So many people ask how we get dogs to work out? That’s easy...PEANUT BUTTER!

Food motivated dogs make our jobs so much easier. We would all be a little more motivated to exercise if treats were involved! We have treats for all taste buds and dietary restrictions. Food not their thing? Clients are always welcome to bring their pets’ favorite toy or even support siblings to make their time here more enjoyable.

Walking in our underwater treadmill is 12 times harder than walking on land. This allows us to give the dogs a really good work out in a shorter amount of time. The buoyancy of the water takes 60-80% of their body weight off their joints depending on the water height. That makes it much easier for post- surgery or arthritic joints to move more freely and with less pain. The added resistance from the water helps build the muscle needed to support those joints.

*Don’t worry, we clean and sanitize the door after every peanut butter use!

Loki is a mature gentleman who suffers from arthritis and hind end weakness. He has been getting routine therapy and pain management from us in our facility as well as doing exercises at home. His owners noticed he was having a difficult time standing up after lying down and needed a little more help. Enter the Help ‘em Up harness! It is a front and back-end harness with handles on the top that his owners can use to give him just the boost he needs. It not only helps him to stand up, but it also saves his parents’ backs from bending over to pick him up. It is super adjustable, and he can wear it all day without any skin irritation. Not only is the harness very user friendly and functional, but he also looks handsome in it as well!

If your senior companion is having similar issues, a Help ‘em Up harness may be just what they need. We are always happy to help with sizing, fittings or any questions you may have.

Kiwi first came to us in May after having a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy, or TPLO, due to a torn cranial cruciate ligament in her stifle.

The human equivalent would be a torn ACL in a knee.

We took a multimodal approach to her healing using a combination of laser, massage, stretching and physical activity to get her back in pre-surgery shape. She wasn’t so sure about all the new activity at first, but after her first session she really began to enjoy herself.

With continued visits and a specially tailored at home exercise plan she began using her surgery leg more appropriately and getting stronger each week.

After several weeks of therapy she had regained the strength, muscle and confidence she had before her injury. She was able to graduate and go back to her usual activity. She looks so good now you can’t even tell which leg had the surgery!

Meet Rusty, our awesome patient who conquered hind end weakness and chronic pain from arthritis with a little help from our team.

đŸ«¶ With Dr. Harmon's expert care, Rusty embarked on a comprehensive treatment plan that included acupuncture, laser therapy, shockwave, and physical rehab therapies alongside pain injections.

đŸ’Ș In just a few weeks, Rusty's progress has been nothing short of remarkable! Now, he's back to his playful self, engaging in play with his housemates and since he is able to more comfortably go outside to potty, is no longer having accidents in the house. Plus, he's regained the strength to get up from resting all on his own!

đŸŸ Rusty's inspiring journey proves that with the right treatments and TLC, our pets can live happy and pain free lives. Getting old doesn’t have to mean living with chronic pain and decreased mobility for our pets. We're thrilled to witness Rusty's transformation and celebrate his renewed vitality.

đŸ€ If you're looking for top-notch care for your older pet, we're here to lend a helping paw!

đŸŸ Meet Turbo! đŸŸ

😱 Turbo came to us with a very painful neck, hindering his ability to turn comfortably and causing difficulty with stairs. His posture was hunched, reflecting his discomfort.

💊 After a comprehensive assessment, we implemented a tailored treatment plan for Turbo. We prescribed medications to alleviate his pain and reduce inflammation and integrated acupuncture, laser therapy, manual techniques, and gentle exercises to initiate his rehabilitation journey.

⚡ Once we were able to get his neck more comfortable it was noted that he was experiencing some pain in his lower back and iliopsoas muscle, commonly associated with lower back pain. Promptly, we incorporated laser and manual therapies to specifically address these areas as well.

💚 With consistency and commitment to the therapy plan, Turbo was able to graduate from formal therapy to a maintenance program! We're so proud of Turbo!
