STARR Farm

Our primary mission is providing quality therapeutic horseback riding for children with special needs. Our riding classes are held April-June on Sunday.

School for Therapeutic and Recreational Riding (STARR) is a program located in Decatur, IL, dedicated to offering therapeutic horseback riding for children with special needs as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, staffed entirely by volunteers. Contact us to add your special needs child to our list. Eligibility for riding is determined by doctor and therapist evaluation and recommendation. We

have two therapy horses that reside at STARR. While waiting to ride, children can watch the horses or walk on a short trail through our woods. We also have some playground equipment and plenty of seats in the shade. NOTE: We do not offer riding lessons or trail rides. We also do not offer rides for adults.
