Carlton’s ranch and boarding, located in Decatur, is now offering English and Wester riding lessons! Starting at age 5 and up (adults welcomed too). We are also offering haul in lessons on your own horse as well, as long as horses are up to date on coggins. We have horses at the facility that can be used as well for lessons. Lessons start at $50 per hour for haul in lessons and $60 per hour for use of facility horses. We start from basics entailing grooming, beginner/intermediate/advanced riding, care of the horse, teaching students tack and equipment used for horses, along with terminology of the horse and basic care. These will be private lessons where we can Focus one the student and teach them confidence and building a bond with the horse. We also will be offering a day camp on Sundays with fun activities for students, activities will entail more in-depth of terminology of the horse and tack along with water games and fun things to do on and off the horse! We will provide food and drinks to students when we have them during camp. We will also teach them responsibility of taking care of and “owning” horses.
