LOST DOG
After terrible auto wreck.
My sister Karen McGrath made a post on the same lost dog on Sunday. At that time both my phone and my wifes phone were lost in the accident.
My wife and I were in a terrible car wreck on Sunday morning on Hwy 380 in Decatur near 287. Our van flipped and landed upside down. I opened the drivers door and when I did I saw our German Shepard Oggy, flash past me. I immediately got my wife Melissa out of the van, and went back in the van for our other dog Snappy who is an older English Mastiff. The van was on fire when I went back in and I burnt my hand, I could not find Snappy. The police arrived on scene and Insisted that I exit the burning van. The police asked if anyone else was in the van, and I told them that our other dog Snap was in the van.
Snap must have exited the van through the missing windshield. A lady then told me that she spotted our large tan mastiff crossing 380 and running over to the Victory Church. I had the German Shepard Oggy on his leash and went running after him. I went from Victory church to on Mulberry St. up to Trinity looking for Snappy, but then I felt I had to get back to the scene of the accident, so I returned on Trinity St under 380.
Since the accident my wife and I have been staying in the Decatur EconoLodge. We have been searching the town from sun up to sun down every day, and placing posters. A few days ago there were a couple of sightings at Ash and Trenchard, I have left Melissa and Oggy there all day while I continued to search the town on my electric unicycle.
At 9.5 years old, Snappy is very full of life, we often have to tell him to stop trying to hump Oggy. Snappy is quite spoiled and used to rare dog convinces like ice in his water bowl. In fact he will wine at his water bowl, then look at us, as a request for ice. His favorite treat is peanut butter. Snappy is a very nice dog when awake, but he can be dangerous when asleep, as he will bite when startled waking up.
Anything anyone can do to help us would be greatly appreciated.
