Petmeisters is looking for a new dog walker. We are seeking someone to help with our Monday-Friday Mid Day Walk schedule.

We have a very small service area and serve the Oakhurst, East Lake, Kirkwood and Midway Woods neighborhoods.

We have the best human and animal clients, so the job is pretty cool and you get paid well while doing it. This job cannot be beat!

Starting pay $26 per hour.

We are seeking candidates who are:
~available Monday - Friday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
~self motivated
~great with animals & humans alike
~have reliable transportation & a smart phone
~live in or near our current service area

Who needs a sweet old man to snuggle? Look at this sweet face.

UPDATE 2 on 10/22 at 9:30 p.m.: A long-time foster came today before the potential foster from this page arrived and she took Gumbi home. SO, the wonderful person number one (Jenny), took home another senior in need, Keeko. That means THREE dogs in need got out because of this post and all of you: Gumbi, Delaney who went with the other person who came to meet him on Friday, and Keeko. Woohoo! Y'all rock. 😁

UPDATE 10/20 at 7:30 p.m.: A wonderful person who saw this post went tonight to meet this handsome fella. She will take him home Sunday to foster. If her resident female dog likes him, she may adopt him. Coincidentally, someone else arrived at the same time to meet Gumbi, so they met some other dogs. I hope they found a good fit to foster or adopt. Thank you: your shares helped make this possible!

If you have a soft spot for seniors, please meet Gumbi! 😍
Gumbi is currently the oldest dog in the DeKalb County Animal Services shelter (metro Atlanta) at 12 years young.

Gumbi landed here after some extreme circumstance where his owner was sadly no longer able to care for him 😢 but one can only assume that Gumbi was well loved by his previous owner because he is still heartworm negative. (Yay!)

Last week he started showing signs of an upper respiratory infection, but was healthy enough to fight it off and seems to be on the mend now.

Gumbi also has a bit of resting grump face and isn't really excitable enough to get up off his bed when people walk by, so he is a harder sell to visitors. Most people want a dog who is excited to see them. Gumbi just isn't getting all worked up. Maybe he knows that there aren't many people beating the door down to foster or adopt a 12 year-old dog. 😔

🐾🐾 Gumbi is currently in C26. 12 yo, 85 lbs, HW-, unaltered (he will be neutered). Has not yet been tested with dogs, cats, or kids. He is calm but friendly, loves to eat, seems very house-trained and is easy on leash ❤️ If you can bust this handsome older gentleman out of the shelter, please go get him. The shelter will give you all the supplies you need. 3280 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Chamblee, GA. 11-7 weekdays, 11-6 weekends, closed to the public on Wednesdays (though he could be picked up to foster on a Wednesday).

We ❤️ you Oakhurst!……….but from this day forward if you need any visits during Porchfest and you LIVE in Oakhurst, special hazard pay will be added to your bill. Good grief what a zoo! But it was great to see everyone out there having fun lol

A friend of mine found these puppies under a trailer yesterday. She is looking for foster homes. Best case scenario they would all stay together for two weeks. Second-best would be fostering them in pairs of two or three puppies. I know from experience that it’s best when you have a couple of puppies together because they entertain each other, snuggle each other, and have a good time with each other. So much easier than just one.

I would be fostering them however, I’m going out of town for a week.
