We are currently partnering with the city on this amazing project, please consider donating if you are able to. Stay tuned, we will be posting soon asking for Dog Park name suggestions, which will be narrowed down to the two most popular for final voting!

The Kekionga Project is LIVE! This transformative project has amenities for people of all ages. Whether you are looking for an adult softball league to join, a safe place to let your dog run, or a beautiful lake to take your children fishing, Kekionga Park will be the place to be. We're eligible for a matching grant from IHCDA's CreatINg Places, but only if we hit our goal first. Please share this post, scan the QR code or go to, www.patronicity.com/kekionga for more information and to donate. Thank you for your support!

Hang tight guys! Still waiting on approval for a location from the City of Decatur Parks Board and City Council (or rather FEMA). The Decatur Parks Board ensures me that they are indeed in favor of a dog park. They are working diligently to find us a location. The two proposed ideas were a FEMA parcel near Kekionga Park and the backup was 8th Street by the new police station. A FEMA property will likely fall through as we would need approval 3 ways from the Maumee River Council, the City of Decatur, and the Federal Government, which could take years for the paperwork to go through (which would likely be denied at that point). 8th Street is a residential location and the Board of Works and City Council did not seem keen on that idea. We are currently brainstorming new ideas. I personally believe Kekionga (in the back right corner near the River Greenway Trail) would be the best bet because the only approval necessary would be via the Decatur Parks Board.

Hello all, thank you for being patient with us as we navigate the process of finding a location for Decatur's first dog park! We have been working extensively with the parks board, and have narrowed down our search to a primary location pending approval and a backup location. We cannot yet reveal these locations, but hope to be able to very soon, so stay tuned!

In the mean time, we are still accepting online pledges, simply message us or comment on this status to donate to our efforts. We will be planning fundraising events for the coming summer months, so keep an eye out for those as well!

If you're excited about making this park a reality, share a pic of your dogs so we can see all those adorable faces that will run and play in Decatur's first dog park!

Our apologies that you haven’t heard from us in a while.

We have been meaning to meet with the parks and recreation department for updates, but the April meeting was unavailable for us due to them meeting at another location.

Stay tuned please!

Hello fellow dog loving friends. Marley and Chaplin are CLEARLY tired of being cooped up inside this winter. The dog park committee is still working hard to make a dog park a reality.

Tomorrow, Monday February 11th at 7pm at The Riverside Center, the Parks and Recreation Board Meeting is taking place where we should have official word on whether we get to move forward.

We, the planning committee are inviting you to join us at this meeting. We will be revealing our pole results for location and how much the community is willing to pay for park membership. We hope to see many of you there!!
