Happy Sunday!

Today will be 99 degrees here in GA. Please remember to make sure to keep your furry family members safe.

🐾 Make sure you dog has plenty of water and shade if they live outside

🐾 Check the pavement before walking your dog ( general rule if it is too hot for your bare feet, it is too hot for your dog)

🐾 Limit outdoor activities

🐾 Watch for signs of heat stroke

🐾 Never leave your dog in a hot car no matter if the window is cracked

🐾 Did you know that peppermint isn't just refreshing for humans but can also be a helpful natural remedy for our furry friends? 🌿🐶 Peppermint oil, when used correctly, can soothe your pup's itchy skin, digestive tract, repel fleas, and even freshen their breath!

🌬️ For a simple breath freshener, try adding a drop of food-grade peppermint oil to your dog's water bowl. Just make sure it's heavily diluted and that your pet likes the taste!

🐜 To naturally repel fleas, mix a few drops of peppermint oil with a carrier oil like coconut oil and apply a small amount on your dog's coat. It's a chemical-free way to keep pests at bay!

Canine Interest

Lost Breeds : The Argentine Polar Dog was created by the Argentine army for use in the Antarctic as sled dogs. They were a mix of the Manchurian Spitz, Alaskan Malamute, Greenland Dog, and Siberian Husky. These dogs were well-suited to the cold conditions with their three layers of fur and thick layer of fatty tissue. However, in 1964, they were ordered to be removed from Antarctica due to fears of disease transmission. Once relocated to Argentina, the dogs faced illnesses to which they had little immunity and soon became extinct.

The Xoloitzcuintlis are believed to have originated 3,500 years ago. Lost Breeds

The Molossus is one of the best known antiquity of dog breeds. They were bred to guard the Molossian tribe of Ancient Greece. Alexander the Great’s armies were accompanied by the Molossus. After the Roman Empire fall, the original breed vanished, but their descendants live on. Many contemporary breeds include, mastiffs, Great Danes, Saint Bernards and the Rottweilers. Collectively they are known as Molossers.
