Thank you also to Ladonna M Williams, Lance Shockley, and Jeremy Taylor for giving us the opportunity to enjoy our sweet Lilly girl who has been a joyful addition to our family. There’ll never be another like her.

Just some helpful info on Plott Hounds for those that are new to the breed. We observe that some good folks have been misled as to what a true Plott Hound is and we want to clarify in order to inform the public on the breed. We post various colors indicative of the breed but those are breed specific from UKC/PKC/ or AKC registered parents. Growing up I used to think that another breed - the cur dog - was just a mixed breed dog. It is not. There’s several different curs that are recognized — mountain curs, black mouth cur etc. Likewise, Plotts have a specific history and genetic make-up and they are recognized as a breed by several different kennel clubs. When you Google Plott Hound you can get some misleading information. If you do some research you’ll find that the Plott breed has an amazing historical value and some interesting stories of their origin in the Smokies. We are glad you like our page. There are a lot of great dogs that are rescued that have some Plott DNA. They’re just not full blooded Plotts. We have adopted other breeds (full blooded and not) in the past. We are not against adopting or against mixed breeds. We simply have chosen to preserve the great and little known breed that is the true Plott Hound, the only scent hound with its origins in the US. We are thankful for the Plott family and the great dogs they’ve afforded us to enjoy.
