I had the realization today that so many of my employees and even clients only know September 11 from the annual remembrance. It’s impossible to describe into words, who watched the attack unfold over the morning hours on TV. My son was five years old and a kindergarten at Briarlake Elementary school. If you read this post and you were not old enough or had not been born yet, I encourage you to ask an adult family member friend coworker what that day was like. Because there is the ability to move forward and honor by talking about something so horrific, the act of war on our soil. Ordinary men and women, trained and untrained from the area and across the United States surged toward NYC to offer help. On that day, many trained and ordinary men and women lost their lives in doing so. And the days that passed, the efforts continued to out pouring of help trying to hold onto hope. We are a nation of action and a nation of hope. Many of us feel very deeply this day. It’s important we honor not the day, but an all the lives saved, and all those lost.
