Sweet Mojo has just about the best “sit and smile” pose we’ve ever seen. This adorable boy is a 2 1/2-year-old Labrador hoping to meet his forever family soon. Mojo is an active, energetic boy who loves to run and play outside especially when the weather is nice so he can take a dip in the pool. He’s a fan of anything peanut butter, loves long walks, and has become quite the supervisor for the staff in the laundry room while they’re folding laundry. Mojo is an affectionate guy who loves to say hello to everyone and has the cutest way of tippy-tapping his paws when he’s happy or excited. Pico de Gallo came to HSNEI this summer as a small kitten. She is hoping she can go home soon so she can spend the cold winter months ahead curled up warm and toasty with her family. Pico is seven months old now and is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to play with human and feline friends alike. She can make a toy out of anything she finds but especially loves balls and wand toys. This beautiful girl has some of the softest, most luxurious fur you’ll ever feel and the sweetest little meow she uses to get your attention. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR REMI IN THE RURAL NORTHEAST CALMAR AREA!! She was out hunting with her dad earlier today when she had a seizure and ran off from the area marked near 185th Street. She is not currently wearing her collar and is most likely looking for somewhere she feels safe to curl up in and might be hiding. If you have seen her or taken her in please contact HSNEI so we can help get her home.

Would you just look at this face?? Murphy is hoping there is someone out there who is looking for a pup that enjoys walks on the prairie, cozy movie nights on the couch, and going downtown to socialize. This sweet, silly boy is just about the biggest love bug you’ll ever meet. He’s a playful guy who loves fetch and tug-of-war and is very respectful of his plush toys, nibbling them just enough to hear the squeaker. Murphy is a smart pup who likes puzzle toys and games, enjoys hearing just how handsome he is, and loves to share his favorite toy with you at the end of the day. You would never know it from these photos, but Sassy is really starting to feel down about seeing so many other dogs find their forever families and not having hers yet. Today marks six months since she arrived at HSNEI, so she’s seen her share of happy endings. She’s hoping hers will be next. Sassy is a sweet, energetic Husky Mix girl who is just over a year old. She’s an exceptionally smart pup who loves to show off her skills and has a real desire to please. She already knows several commands and would most likely excel with some further training. Sassy loves being outside to play, go for walks, and show you her adorable zoomies. She’s also an affectionate pup who enjoys pets, ear scritches, and belly rubs. Meet Apollo!! This sweet boy is a 4-year-old Australian Kelpie mix looking for his forever home. Apollo is the perfect mix of smart, energetic, and social, all rolled into one adorable little pup. He's a smart guy who is eager to learn, especially if treats are involved, and he's a pro when it comes to fetching frisbees. Apollo previously lived with other dogs and has done well with children who have come to visit him at the shelter. This beautiful girl with glowing green eyes is 3-year-old Zelda. She is a sweet, affectionate girl who always comes running to greet people and loves a good snuggle. Zelda enjoys cat napping in sunny windows, belly rubs, and simply being close to people. She’s even become best friends with the small children in her foster home, always tolerant and never using her claws when they play. Although her foster family loves her very much they are not able to give her a forever home and are hoping there is someone out there looking for a gentle-natured, kid-friendly feline to bring into their home. Zelda is FeLV+ but this doesn’t stop her from living a normal life and only means she would need to be the only cat in the home or live with other FeLV+ positive cats.
