We would like to formally introduce our newest team member, April Bauer! April is a Minnesota native, who now resides in Iowa. She recently completed the Veterinary Technician program, and passed her VTNE (Technician Boards!) We love having April as a part of our growing team, and look forward to her growing with our practice in the years to come!

Pheasant Season Has Finally Arrived!
With the Iowa Pheasant Season Opener this weekend, it is crucial to your dog's health to ensure they are up-to-date on all vaccinations and have quality veterinary-prescribed flea and tick prevention on board. We have seen an influx of flea infestations in the last few weeks and are continuing to get calls daily about tick bites.

Keeping our canine companions healthy and safe is just as important as having a successful hunt!

Wrapping up vet tech week, we have our honorable mention Ms. Skye Borcherding who serves on a daily basis as one of our friendly faces at the front desk, but fills in for us with technician appointments to ensure your pets are kept up to date on all of their needs! Skye has been a member of our team at the clinic for a bit over a year now, and we greatly appreciate her willingness to be flexible and fulfill multiple roles within our practice.




Thank you Skye for handling all we ask of you with grace.

Please remember not only this week, but every week, to be kind and thank your veterinary staff for all of their hard work! We couldn’t do it without them!

Andrew Shawver has been part of our clinic team for 3 years! We appreciate Andrew for being extremely hard working, and always having a get it done attitude. Andrew and his wife Annette, along with their small flock of pets live in Fort Atkinson. He is our go to handy man, and lead of our tech support department. Andrew has an instinctual ability to calmly handle animals to ensure comfort throughout your visit.

Kaija Klein has been a member of our team at the Decorah Veterinary Clinic for 3 years now! Kaija brings a quick-witted demeanor to the team, that always keeps everyone on their toes. Kaija lives in Decorah and enjoys time spent with her multiple four-legged furry friends and watching true crime documentaries. She has a caring heart and is wonderful at bringing a calm and gentle energy when working with our patients, ensuring a smooth and stress-free visit for your pets!

Jaimie Elsbernd has been a valued team member at the clinic for 5 years now! Jaimie is lovingly described around here as the goofball of the group and keeps us all smiling with her sudden dance moves, song outbursts, and fun-loving personality. Jaimie, and her boyfriend Nolan, along with their pup Pepper & cat Binx live in Decorah and are always on the go! She has huge heart, that shows through in everything she does both in and out of the clinic. We value Jaimie for her ability to connect with patients and clients on a deeper level.

Megan Peterson joined our team here at the Decorah Veterinary Clinic 6 years ago. Megan brings a happy uplifting attitude and youthful energy to our team! Megan and her husband Talon live in Mabel with their dog Percy and a small herd of kitties. She is always on the hunt for ways to improve her skills to be better for our team and patients, most recently she has become fear free certified! Megan is a very motivated Individual with a welcoming personality that makes everyone feel at home in the clinic.
