We know that once we post NEO for adoption we're going to cause a traffic jam of people driving to the shelter to come adopt him. We love mixed breed dog's but we think this one might be one of the strangest yet cutest mixes yet. Meet Kenzie the CHIHUAHUA/GREAT PYRENEES mix. Yeah, you read that correctly. We had a hard time trying to figure out Kenzie's breed but the more we asked around the more we kept getting the same answer. Kenzie is an absolute sweetheart. Although she will never be as big as a PYRENEES she definitely has a huge heart full of love to give to her new family. We are so excited to announce that Cool Cow Creamery will be joining us at this years Woofstock on September 28th from 4-8pm at Dow Park. After the hurricane turned their world upside down, this sweet momma and her last pup were abandoned together/dumped to fend for themselves. Their siblings have found homes, but these two are still waiting, hearts heavy with loss. As we continue to take in more stray dogs each day, we really need your help. UPDATE: SCRAPPY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!

Mr. Scrappy wants you to know that he is definitely a lap dog. It was very hard to get a picture of him because he just wants to be held. I promise once you meet him you will only want to hold him. This little wire haired Chihuahua came to our shelter a few weeks ago after being removed from a bad situation. After giving him time to settle in its now time for Mr. Scrappy to find a forever home. This little guy is approximately 3-4 years old and is already neutered. Scrappy would make a great companion for any family. UPDATE: BOTH PUPPIES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. MOMMA DOG STILL NEEDS A HOME. PLEASE HELP US SHARE TO FIND HER A HOME AS WELL

Some of you may have already seen these pups on your Facebook feed recently. Less than an hour after Hurricane Beryl had come through Deer Park, these pups and momma dog were dumped at the front gate of the shelter. The people who dumped them left them stranded right next to a flooded ditch and drove off with momma chasing after their truck into traffic. Thank you to the kind citizens who caught mom and her four pups. Her other two pups have already been adopted and now our sweet girls are looking for their forever homes as well. THE WAIT IS OVER!!!! The Deer Park Animal Shelter is proud to announce Woofstock is back. Mark your calendar's for September 28th as we bring you this year's great lineup. Joining us will be City Of La Porte, TX Adoption Center & Animal Shelter, Pasadena Animal Shelter, City of Pearland - Animal Services, Bayou Animal Services & Adoption Center and City of Baytown Animal Services, all bringing many adoptable pups. After many requests, we decided to go TEX-MEX with this year's theme. We will have country artists The Dyllan Culp Band rocking the stage bringing some great country tunes, and Grupo Alcanzable jamming Tejano Hits and other Spanish classics.
