Today a few of the pups from our Dixie/Jaxon litter paid a visit to The Pillars of Grand Rapids. As they say, " A picture is worth a thousand words". The Residents, Staff, Riggs, and puppies, and visitors enjoyed the time. Today's therapy session is a success for sure. So heart warming.

We would like to introduce the newest member of our Bearded Hunter Kennel family. Her name is Kiah. She is the offspring of one of our pups, Ramsey (Cooper/Bellah 2021).

As a breeder we strive to produce a pup that has natural ability, high prey drive and desire. A cooperative, trainable dog with a proper temperament. The pairing between Libby/C**t has proven to be just that. These young ladies are a validation to us that we are successful at what we are trying to accomplish. CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!
These three girls had a fabulous day at the county dog show! (For those they don't know, grand champion and reserve champion are what everyone strives for, but getting a blue is a huge accomplishment as they are not handed out easily, reds (below blue) are the most common).
Morgan (on left, Libby/C**t 2021) got grand champion in Grad Beginner Obedience, red in Beginner Agility (she might be overly enthusiastic about agility), and blue in Jumpers 1B.
Otto (middle, Libby/C**t 2023) got grand champion in Beginner Obedience, and blue in pre-agility and reserve champion in Jumpers 1A.
Morgan and Otto also competed in Brace Obedience (2 dogs, one leash, one handler) and were within 5 points of the team who got grand champion and the only team with a 1 year old.
Lena (on right, Libby/C**t 2023) got reserve champion in Beginner Obedience, reserve champion in pre-agility, blue in Jumpers 1A, blue in rally foundations and red in novice showmanship.
The girls put in a lot of work and it paid off! These dogs are so great and the perfect combination of being a wonderful family member, smart and obedient, and hard working hunters.

The breeding between Prim and Jaxon has taken place over the last few days. This is a first time breeding and should produce some excellent pups. Previous pups produced by Prim and by Jaxon have done great in the field and home. Both are health tested and hunt titled.
Jaxon is 55 pounds and a NAVHDA NA112 Prize 1, and NAVHDA UT204 Prize 1.
Prim is 52 pounds and AKC Junior Hunt Titled. Contact us for more info.

Come and join us at our Clubs AKC hunt test. Our test is the most northern AKC hunt test held in MN. A great way to get your dog some bird work. Don't let fear of the unknown stop you. Everyone will help, advise, and guide you so you and your dog can have a fun experience and build your dogs pedigree.

The repeat breeding of Dixie /Jaxon has taken place over the last week. Last year's litter produced some excellent pups with excellent natural ability, temperaments, and trainability. Our dog club is having our annual meeting on April 13th at the Jacobson, MN property owned by Chuck and Vickie Lehmen, 19650 650th Ln. Come and join us - get involved and have fun. Monthly meetings with training before or after. Birds and help with training on site.
Meeting will be held outside, so dress accordingly.

1. If you want to train before or after meeting please comment and how many birds you would like to use so we can get them caught

Had the pleasure to train a granddaughter to my dog, Dixie. Her name is Willow and is owned by Tony and Bonita Paul. She has the pointing thing down (very pretty, stylish point), but this was the first time retrieving a warm dead bird. The next time she will not hesitate on the retrieve.

Doing a little positive pigeon drill with the youngster, Nelly. Making a video and pulling pigeons out of the bag can be challenging, but we got the job done. She is doing amazingly well for 7 months.
I was asked by a friend to work with a 10 month old GWP. This was a pup that didn't sell from a previous litter last April. The pups name is Chip. He has a nice sturdy build, a smooth tighter coat, a very nice temperament, and cooperates well. Isaac wanted me to give the pup a good start with intro to gun and birds. He is doing very well after his first week. If you are interested or know of someone that is interested in a young started dog with a good amount of natural ability. My Grandson Gavin takes the prize for having the best trained dog this year. Kaiser, a Libby/Colt 2022 pup stood up against the tree to pee.

This is Boone. Prim/Smitty 2022. He is 15 months old.
I've been training Ozzie for about 2 1/2 weeks. He is a Libby/Colt pup from 2022, owned by Chauncy and Theresa Riggs from Duluth, MN. He has really started to figure it out in the last 5 days. Searching well with his nose and pointing. These Libby/Colt pups are such a joy to work with. Lots of natural ability and drive.
Blitz is getting his turn with some training tonight. He is a Libby/Colt pup from 2022, 15 months old.
Doing a little training with the youngsters tonight. Benny is a Libby/Colt pup from 2022, 15 months old. He is putting it together pretty well.
I've been training Kaiser for the last 3 weeks. He is a Libby/Colt pup from 2022, 15 months old, owned by my grandson, Gavin Green. He is ready for pheasant season to begin. My grandson cannot wait to get him in the field. Hope you both have a great season.
