Cabby and Eme
Our sweet Cabby with our Birthday girl, Eme!!
Bolt update: Bolt survived surgery and is recovering! The obstruction ended up being a piece of corn cob wrapped in hair that had been there for some time. His Giardia is being treated. We’ve been monitoring him closely and thankfully, he is hungry and has been eating! (Small, monitored amounts). He has also been pooping which means his bowels are working properly!! We’ve never been so happy for bowel movement!!
We can’t post videos and pictures in the same post for some reason. But this video was too cute not to post. Our bill from Blissfield Veterinary Service is in the comments. Our first bill from Veterinary Emergency Center in Maumee was $2,400. The bill from Blissfield is a little over $2,020. We owe close to $4,500. We have raised over $1,500 in donations from our AMAZING supporters so far! We cannot thank you guys enough. A bill this big can cripple small rescues like us. It’s not just us helping save these dogs, it’s you too. So thank you! ❤️ More updates on Bolt to come. Soon, he will be looking for his forever family. And we will be extra picky on choosing his family because this boy did not go through hell just to go to a family that does nothing less than spoil the crap (pun not intended) out of him! ❤️🐾

Today we had a special intake. This is Cam. Someone shot Cam and another female dog named Betty. Unfortunately Betty did not survive the surgery. Cam survived but he needed his leg amputated. An amazing vet clinic offered to do his amputation for free and we are eternally grateful!
Despite being shot, despite losing his leg, Cam came to us in the best spirits. Tail wagging, hopped at great speed to greet us, he is absolutely resilient. He was shot by a human, and yet he is still so loving and accepting of new humans.
Betty, we are so sorry you were failed by humans. You should be alive right now. Cam, we are so happy to have you with us ❤️ Better days ahead!
