Fiber processing lessons at the farm. We are still offering classes to learn to knit and spin yarn with a drop spindle. The next spinning class is this Sunday March 16 at 3:30 pm. Soon we will offer a spring themed needle felting class - make bunnies, easter eggs, and butterflies in three sizes. Pictures to come.

Also coming are sessions on skirting and washing a fleece. Drop us a note to let us know where your interest lies.

Our focus has shifted back to the farm with the arrival of lambing season. We will still offer classes for you to learn to knit or spin yarn with a drop spindle. Classes will be held in our wool studio at the farm. We have our own micro mill to process our own wool and fleeces.

Other classes will include beginner needlefelting, skirting fleeces, washing, dyeing, picking, carding and combing wool. And you can visit with the lambs. Let us know what you would like to try.

Exciting news! We have joined the Village Community at 17 West Main Street in Hillsboro to offer classes & workshops in the fiber arts. We teamed up with Jenna Colby on Dec 10 to make a fun, needlefelted Christmas Ornament with locally grown wool. Lots of ideas for workshops to come. We said good bye to our sweet boy, Zip today. He was 31. He gave us so many precious memories, taught many to ride, took several to ribbons in the show ring over many years. He was a founding member of our HUG A HORSE program. He was gentle, loving and always up for fun. We will miss him terribly. Run free, buddy.....

Reminder: We are a stop on the Wool Arts Tour Oct 7 Sat. 10-5 and Oct 8 Sun 10-4. Our indoor arena will be set up with demonstrators & exhibitors related to fiber art. Learn about spinning yarn, felting, weaving, knitting, crocheting, dyeing, processing wool and other animal fibers. The event is free and open to the public. Stock up on supplies for your winter crafting projects or pick up some locally sourced unique gifts.

There will be no riding lessons over the weekend starting on the Friday

Days 1 and 2 of Spring break camp

Today, Rosie is just a little horse. Vicious game of Horse O Poly. Courtney killed us. Taytlyn enjoying a ride on T. Rest of us also rode in the indoor arena. It sure was nasty weather outside. Feb camp is a wrap --now taking reservations for the April Camp.

Day 4. Experimenting with color - Dyeing wool. Thanks for helping, Maureen! Always fun...

Reflections of Tuesday camp day....Fed, watered sheep and horses. Turned horses out. Cleaned stalls. Learned about horses' registration papers. Checked the sap buckets. Sheared a sheep with hand shears. Took our horses for a walk - kinda like a trail ride in hand rather than in the saddle. Great lesson in ground manners. Rode our horses.

Barn shares are available for those who love being with horses, but don’t want to ride. Limited boarding is available. Our focus is your needs and goals. Whether it’s confidence building, learning something new, or just connecting with these magnificent and majestic animals, we offer something for everyone. Our American Quarter Horses are seasoned and quiet, many of them have been with us for over 10 years.
