Oh, hi. Name’s Peeper, but you can call me Peeps if I like you enough. Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not here for the mushy, cuddly nonsense. I’m a no-nonsense, been-through-it-all kinda gal with a sass streak a mile wide. My life hasn’t been all sunshine and tuna cans, but I’ve come out the other side with my head held high—and maybe a little crooked, thanks to my charmingly cross-eyed look.

Yeah, I’ve got a unique face and a coat to match, but don’t think for a second I’m just here to be admired. I’ve got rules: I like my peace, my quiet, and a nice, calm spot to chill. You see, I’ve been dealt a rough hand—declawed and tossed outside like I didn’t matter. Add in a bald spot from a flea collar left on way too long, and, well, you get why I’m not here for any nonsense.

But let me tell you this: I’m a good cat. I deserve a soft landing and a cozy retirement home where I can finally feel safe and respected. If you’ve got the patience for an old gal with a heart of gold hidden under some sass, I might just let you join my circle.

UPDATE: Owner found & reclaimed!

Do you know this guy? 🕵🏼‍♂️

He was found by a Good Samaritan on either 127 or 15 between Ney & Bryan. The finder is from out of town and not aware of crossroads to pinpoint an exact location. He was very close to being hit by several cars.

He is a very friendly unneutered male. He does not have a microchip or tags.

Oh, hey there! I’m Blake, your not-so-typical, green-eyed Tortie who’s just trying to get her life together. I showed up here with my buddy Ryan (yeah, he’s available too), and I’ve got to say, I’m really nailing this whole “being adorable” thing.

Okay, full disclosure: I came in missing a few patches of fur thanks to some flea drama. Not my proudest moment, but hey, who hasn’t been through an awkward phase? The good news is I’m feeling a million times better now, and my fur is making a strong comeback. Watch out, world—Blake 2.0 is here.

Now, about my living situation. I’ve lived with other cats before and am currently sharing my digs with a few other cats. Dogs, though? Nope, never met one, and honestly, the idea of it sounds a little stressful. What I do want is a quiet, chill home where I can lounge in sunbeams, get some quality human snuggles, and occasionally show off my comedic timing.

This male, intact German Short-haired Pointer was found Christmas Day by a Good Samaritan on the corner of Mulligan's Bluff and the Williams County line in Washington Township. No tags or microchip.

If you know this dog or who he belongs to, please contact the Defiance County Dog Warden at (419)-784-9027.

If this dog is not reclaimed in 3 days, he will be placed up for adoption. 🐶🐾

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the shelter,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a yelper.
The stockings were hung by the kennels with care,
In hopes that forever homes soon would be there.

The pets were all nestled, warm in their beds,
While dreams of new families danced in their heads.
When out on the roof, there arose such a clatter,
The pups wagged their tails to see what was the matter!

With a wink and a treat, St. Nick did appear,
Bringing love and new homes for the pets so dear.
And as he flew off into the night,
“Happy tails to all, and to all a good night!”

Handsome Haggard, this blind bully mix was adopted from us in August. From his new mom - "Haggard is doing absolutely incredible!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🥰. He LOVES the horses!!!!! He is so darned smart! Learned our whole property quickly and knows where all of his "Safe Spots" are. He's my buddy!"

Hi, I’m Dale. I’ve had a bit of a rough go, but I’m finally ready to start fresh with a family who’ll love me forever. A few months ago, I was surrendered to the shelter with another cat (who has since found a home). I didn’t feel well and couldn’t eat or groom myself, which made me sad and a little scared. When the kind people here took me to see the vet, they found painful masses in my mouth that needed surgery right away. Since my surgery, I feel like a whole new cat. I can eat my snacks – which I love – and I’m finally gaining weight and getting a soft shine to my long coat. I’m so happy to meet everyone I see, and I even like dogs! I know I might need some extra care to keep my coat looking nice, but I promise I’ll make it worth it. OUR PURPOSE: • to prevent cruelty to animals and to relieve their suffering • to extend humane education together with such allied purposes and programs as are consistent with the by-laws of the Society • to effect vigilance and inspection when and where warranted, concerning the care and treatment of animals in Defiance County, including cruelty to animals • to give vigorous support for the purpose of improving all anti-cruelty and animal control laws • to work toward the solution of overpopulation of animals; • to promote and share responsibility for proper care and placement of animals; and • to enforce Ohio laws regarding the prevention of cruelty, especially to children and animals
