HOLIDAY ADOPTIONS NEEDED — SPACE IS RUNNING OUT!

It’s never too early to get off Santa’s Naughty List… and these sweet dogs are trying their best! They just need one thing this Christmas: a loving home.

Meet Daphne, Mocha, Mac, Tiffany, Billy, and Martha — all amazing dogs currently at Del Rio Animal Services.

But due to serious space concerns, we need to get them adopted as soon as possible. The holidays bring in more intakes, and every adoption helps us save another life.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, fostering, or adding a new furry friend to your family, now is the perfect time. These pups are ready to love, ready to cuddle, and ready to start the holidays in a warm home — not a kennel.

A huge thank you to the Patterson family for their incredible kindness. 💛

For his recent birthday, their sweet son James made one special request — instead of gifts for himself, he asked guests to bring donations for our shelter animals. His generosity mean more than he knows.

We are so grateful for James, his family, and everyone who helped make this act of compassion possible. 🐾✨

Let’s all give this young man a round of applause for choosing to make a difference at such a young age!

🐾 A Heartfelt Thank You to Wayne ❤️

Today, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Wayne, who graciously volunteered his time to drive three of our dogs to Dilley, TX to meet with APA volunteers.

His kindness, compassion, and unwavering willingness to help make all the difference in the lives of our animals. Volunteers like Wayne help bridge the gap to their next destination for a safer, brighter future.

Thank you, Wayne, for showing our pets the love and care they deserve. We are truly grateful for you. 🐶💛🙏

🐾 Teamwork that saves lives! 🐾

Today, our Senior Animal Services Officer Juanita and Animal Services Officer Karolina traveled all the way to San Antonio to meet with one of Austin Pets Alive! amazing volunteers. 💕

A special thank you as well to Alex, who stepped up last minute to help! He drove our pup Libby to New Braunfels to meet another APA volunteer. Proof that even one extra trip can make a world of difference. 🚗💨🐶

These moments remind us how much we rely on our incredible volunteers. Every transport, every mile, every kind heart makes it possible to save more lives.

🚨 DOGS HAVE BEEN REDEEMED BY THEIR OWNER! 🚨

These two sweet pups were just brought in to Animal Services. They have no tags or microchips, but we’re confident they belong to someone — they’re friendly and clearly well loved 💔

We are currently very full, so we’re asking the community to please help us reunite them with their family as soon as possible.

We kindly ask to please call the office at 830-774-8628, prior to surrendering or bringing in any stray or owned animals. Our staff will place you on a short waiting list and notify you as soon as space becomes available. At the moment the proposed available intake date will be November 6, 2025

✨ Today, we were extremely thankful for our amazing volunteer, Alex, who helped transport our sweet dog Howie to San Antonio, TX to meet with a volunteer from Austin Pets Alive. 🐾 We’re so grateful to Alex for stepping up on such short notice — your kindness truly makes a difference!

Tomorrow morning, Howie will board a flight to his new beginning with a rescue group in Wadena, Minnesota. 💕 Safe travels, Howie! We’re so excited for your next chapter!

On October 22, 2025, our team made a last-minute trip to San Antonio, TX to meet with a volunteer from Austin Pets Alive! 🐾

We successfully transported six dogs on their way to brighter futures. We are beyond grateful for Austin Pets Alive! and their incredible team — their kindness and dedication continue to make a world of difference for our animals. 💛

We had a successful day today at Southwest Texas College’s adoption event, we’re thrilled to share that 2 cats and 3 dogs found their forever homes!

A huge thank you to Southwest Texas Junior College for inviting us and always showing so much love and support for our animals. Your partnership truly helps us make a difference.

We also want to thank everyone who came out, asked questions, and chose to adopt — your kindness changes lives! ❤️
