Happy Take Your Dog to Work Day! 🐾

Today is the perfect day to bring your furry friend to your job and share some puppy love with your colleagues if able. People always joke about vet staff spending their days playing with puppies and kittens (if only, if only 😅), so it makes sense for there to be a day for everyone else to experience the same! We wanted to take a break from posts and share a post about outside of work! Dr. Jackson is an avid bird watcher. He has traveled all over to see different species of birds including Costa Rica, Brazil, the Galapagos, Ireland, Mexico and more. He has an astonishing 571 species of birds on his life list. 🤩 His favorite bird sightings thus far have been puffins in Ireland, Burrowing owls in Cape Coral and Aruba, MotMots in Costa Rica and Mexico and Blue Footed Bo***es in the Galapagos. Do we have any other bird watchers out there? Or what are some of your favorite hobbies to do outside of your work?

We had the pleasure of seeing TWO bearded dragons today. Did you know these guys wear their emotions on their chins? During various emotional states, the “beard” can change colors and expand. In a calm state, the chin stays a similar color to the rest of the body. 😊

Today is National Endangered Species Day and we wanted to highlight the Black Footed Ferret that is on the Endangered Species List! These animals were once thought to be extinct, only to be rediscovered in Wyoming in 1981! They are one of the most endangered mammals in North America (approximately 370 in the wild). Sadly, habitat loss and disease still threaten this species population. Though not specifically a Black-Footed Ferret, we wanted to give a little throw back to this cutie Mr. Daisy (came in as Mrs. Daisy 🤪) who came in for an exam after being found in someone's backyard just wondering around!

We wanted to give everyone plenty of time to fight over this little one now! Claire and Diesel took full advantage of cooling off from the heat in the splash pad! Did you know we offer extra play times while your pet is boarding? That can include 15 minutes outside playing in the splash pad or even just extra cuddles for the more reserved pets!
