DYK? Wisconsin has the fourth-largest Amish population among 32 states. Animal-drawn vehicles, also known as horse and buggies, are a common sight in some rural areas of Wisconsin. These vehicles usually go less than 25 mph.

Not exceeding the speed limit and paying attention to the road in front of you, especially around corners, are the best ways to avoid dangerous situations with animal-drawn vehicles. If you approach an animal-drawn vehicle, slow down and only pass when safe to do so.

Standardbred season is officially upon us!

This is our busy time of year and I am currently scheduling surgeries into NOVEMBER 2023. There are a few days where I could add a simple castration, but that is about it for surgical availability the next few weeks. Non-surgical availability is getting slim as well, so call ASAP if you need joint injections or radiographs.

We hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend! This weekend marks the start of our busy season at TVEH!!

Many of the competition circuits and show seasons are winding down this weekend, and the off-season for horse owners kicks off the busy season for surgery!

There are big weanling and yearling sales in the fall and a lot of surgeries scheduled before those horses go into training in January. If you have a horse that has already been scanned for OCDs or you wanted to finish that last show before your mare’s ovariectomy, NOW is the time to call and get them on the surgery schedule.

Currently, we are scheduling the third week of September for next available surgery and will average a 2-3 week availability from now until Christmas.

Phone hours are 8-4 Monday-Thursday, and 8-12 Fridays. We are not always able to answer the phone in real time because we are in surgery or other appointments, so PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE and we will call you back as soon as we are available.
