It’s and we want to introduce you to Penelope.

This tiny little gal came to the shelter as a stray in need of vet care immediately. She was rushed over to Lake Geneva Animal Hospital to see what was going on with her injuries. After x-rays, you could tell that her leg was broken and needed surgery. The vet was able to pin her leg in hopes to save it.

It’s unfortunate that at such a young age Penelope has had a rough start. But we are thankful for the person that found her and the vets that are caring for her!

Miss Penelope has a long way to heal but is in good care and being fostered by the vet.

Xander said he’s excited to be

This boxy boy LOVES to run, play with all the toys, walk the trails and snuggle! Xander gets so happy to see everyone, he just HAS to wiggle his body as he walks up. What more could you ask for from this little pocket boy🥰

As adorable Xander is he would rather be the only animal in the home - no cats or dogs. Kids? He loves them! But he also doesn’t under he’s a solid boy that will knock you down.

Our pet of the week is LIDY🥰

This sweet gal has been waiting for 808 DAYS to find her forever home.

Oh, Lidy. She's been waiting for so long to have a chance at another life.
Lidy started coming into the shelter in 2020, not at any fault to her. Unfortunately, since 2023 she has called Lakeland her home. During her stay she has had 2 ACL surgeries for both her back legs. An ACL surgery is to repair the ligament in the knee where a tear can cause pain and limping, basically a hitch in her giddyup. Now healed from her last surgery, she is enjoying life, walking the trails, investigating all the tall grass and running full speed to meet people.
Lidy has no idea how big she is or that bulldozing a person when she meets them is NOT appropriate. She really means to be the sweetest girl and is just thrilled to meet you! She is a strong puller and will need someone able to handle her.
