Many pets are scared by loud noises - especially fireworks and thunderstorms. ⛈💥🙀 As the season approaches for both we want you to be prepared to help your furry family members feel comfortable!

If your pet takes prescription calming and anxiety medications please make sure you have enough on hand when they will need it. And if a refill is needed please request it well in advance to make sure you get it in time.

And if you feel like your pet may benefit from calming medications this forth of July please reach out to your veterinarian, and they will be happy to help! 🐱

Tick season is in full swing this year!
We have pulled SO MANY ticks off of our patients (and ourselves!🙀) this week alone.
Ticks can carry diseases that can have long-term effects. They can infect your pet and you when the tick feeds. That is why it is so important to keep up with preventative measures, and to use multiple avenues of protection to ensure your pet is as protected as possible.
Lyme Vaccinating your dog is a great start to keep them protected! It’s even recommended that you give them the vaccine annually even if they’ve had Lyme disease in the past.
There are many flea/tick products on the market, and we can help you choose a product that is best for your pet.
The ones we currently stock on our shelves at the hospital are:

Simparica Trio: for dogs is a once a month chewable for fleas, ticks, heart-worm and intestinal parasites.

Seresto: these collars work for up to 9 months to repel and kill fleas and ticks. (And can be used in conjunction with an oral medication like Simparica Trio as an extra layer of protection, or on it’s own.)

Nexgard Combo: a topical medication for cats that protects them for 1 month against fleas and ticks, Prevents heart-worm disease and intestinal parasites.

Don't see your preferred product? All other preventatives can be found on our online pharmacy Blue Rabbit.

Remember to check your stock of flea/tick prevention for your pets and reach out before you run out!

FOUND CAT -- NEW SCOTLAND AVE
A community member reached out to us to ask if we could spread the word that they have found a friendly stray. They believe the cat matches a lost cat post they saw on the Ring Neighbors App but they cannot get in contact with the original poster through the app. Please spread the word so our wandering friend might be reunited!

After 27 years of loving care, wagging tails, purring patients, and the occasional feathered friend, it’s time for Dr. O'Loughlin to hang up the stethoscope and enjoy some well-earned R&R (Rest & Retrievers 🐶😉).

We will be celebrating her next chapter in life on Thursday, 6/19 at 4pm at the Elm Ave Park in Bethlehem, at the LARGE Pavilion! Stop by, grab a bite to eat, and chat with the doctor one last time!
