New babies at the rescue!
Queen Ramonda had 6 baby kitties just days ago! Weāve had a couple of scares with kittens being separated from the group but since we have several nursing mommas, weāve been able to divide them up evenly. Unfortunately one did pass away this morning. That brings our total of baby kittens up to 12 š³
A stray kitten was found in the road. It was immediately taken to the vet. She was given the name Charlotte and she was not in good condition but we were hopeful. The vet took her over the weekend and it appeared she was getting better but suddenly she took a negative turn. Unfortunately Charlotte was too sick and weak and passed away.
When a teenager sees kittens being thrown out of a moving car and does whatever they can to get them out of harms way, what are we to do but to take them in? We were brought two little fluffy scared, wobbly, and at this time only drinking milk kittens. Possible injury to mouth / face stopping them from eating? Once they get in to see the vet weāll have a better idea.
Tonight we received a message from a concerned community member about a deserted dog. You can see almost every bone in his little body. Every ridge of his spine. Vet estimates heās less than two years old. What a hard start heās had already! Heās severely emaciated and covered in ticks and fleas. He is spending the night at the vets office for observation and testing. This also gives us time to figure out his living arrangements. Cue Tobias.
Due to all these emergency intakes, we are in desperate need of paying our vet bill as well as: paper towels, gloves, cat enclosures, kitty litter, canned food (preferably Fancy Feast), puppy food, potty pads, and at least two large 5x10 kennels. These are $350 at Tractor Supply. The bars rusted through one of our large kennels and since we are already short on intake space having a broken kennel is detrimental.
So far, these small, young animals have been failed by the human race. Letās rally together to help gain their trust, provide medical treatment, give them love and to show them we arenāt all bad!
