The event featured a fantastic vintage car show, inspiring remarks from Mayor Scott Singer, and amazing performances by the American Bombshells, Coastman Chorus, and The Jeffrey James Gang.

On this Veterans Day, we want to express our deep gratitude to all who have served in the U.S. military. We are honored to serve those who serve.

The Freedom Patch program was developed specifically for veterans, first responders, and active military members. It is based on the powerful interaction between horses and humans. It draws upon the team-building and problem-solving capacities of these unique careers to foster personal growth and healing outside of the professional environment.

Last Friday, HERD Foundation had the honor of attending the Su***de Prevention Awareness Community Resource Fair at the West Palm Beach VA. Sammy and Cinnamon were there, as always, bringing smiles and comfort to everyone they met—a beautiful reminder of the healing power of connection. We were also joined by Scott Kirtman, an incredible alumnus of the Domiciliary program, who had the joy of walking Cinnamon.

Happy birthday to the United States Air Force, celebrating 77 years today! ✈️🇺🇸✈️

The origins of the USAF lie in a decision made just four years after the Wright Brothers conducted the world’s first airplane flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. In 1907, the U.S. Army Signal Corps created an Aeronautical Division and put it in “charge of all matters pertaining to military ballooning, air machines and all kindred subjects.” As aviation technology improved, the army’s air force grew bigger. An independent military arm became virtually inevitable after the Army Air Forces became an autonomous U.S. Army Command in 1942 and then grew substantially throughout the remainder of World War II. On July 26, 1947, President Harry Truman signed the National Security Act of 1947 on board the presidential aircraft, the Sacred Cow, and set the creation of the USAF in motion.

Enjoy "your" day Air Force!!! ✈️🇺🇸

Healing Power of Horses

Rhonda Fritzshall, Co-Founder and Facilitator of HERD FOUNDATION 501c3 and Founder of Equine Assisted Healing LLC equine- inspired experiential learning programs located in Delray Beach Florida.

Herd translates to family in horse language. Horse wisdom is concerned only with the present, and there you will find gratitude, connection, and peace. When you enter into a relationship with a horse, you have opened the door to your soul, your authentic self. Acutely attuned to human emotions; horses offer us honesty and non-judgemental feedback. They show us what works and what doesn't work, and what's essential in relationships with self and others. They can help us become unstuck, where we may be emotionally blocked. They don't obsess or hold on the things. Horses model self-care, taking responsibility for their own needs, actions, and decisions. They don't turn their backs on their herd mates and show us how "mutual wins" create harmonious relationships and community. Survival for horses depends on sticking together. Safety, comfort, food, and play are the most important values for horses. I am incredibly grateful to witness the power of healing when humans and horses partner.
