Rescue does not end at the pull from the shelter. Rescue is a commitment to provide the care needed until we find our dogs their forever families.

Knox is headed to our vet in Oviedo.
His skin is flaring up again while he is still on antibiotics and his eyes need to be rechecked.

Please join us in wishing Major formerly Broly a Rescue Rebels alumni a Happy Birthday! Today he is TWO!!!

Major was surrendered last January to Orange County Animal Services. He was not properly socialized as a puppy 😢. We took him into our rescue and with the help of Diversity K9 Dog Training we got him the help he needed to build up his confidence. One of our amazing volunteers then helped him by fostering him and eventually foster failing.
Today our handsome boy is living his best life ever……
Some take a little more to become their best version but with patience & dedication it happens!!!

Today Knox said thank you to his foster mama who opened her heart and home until we could move him. Today he made his journey with one of our volunteers to a more permanent foster home.

Our girl Luna is a SUPERSTAR!!! She made it in the North Lake Outpost - how cool is that!!!! We are so grateful to Michael Waite for making Luna a part of his family. Luna is treated like a princess. We couldn't ask for much more!!! Luna reminds us of Cinderella - she wasn't treated so well when she was with her other family - but look at her now!!! She shines like a diamond!!!

We can not say enough great things about Dynamite Dog Training! They have been amazing with Maple!!!
She knows basic commands. She has graduated from Green Paws and is working on graduating from Red Paws.
She has learned so much and has come so far. They are socializing her outside around all kinds of noises and strangers. We can not thank them enough for setting our girl up for success!!

Kaia, our inaugural rescue of 2023, faced adversity when witnessed falling from a moving vehicle on US27 in Florida. Enduring radial nerve damage in one front leg, Kaia's recovery unfolded through meticulous physical and aqua therapy, showcasing the resilience of both Kaia and her dedicated adopters. Her story stands as a testament to our commitment, marking just one among the many success stories of 2023.

A peak at Adira and her puppies. They sleep, eat, play…repeat!! Adira was feeling the stress of nursing 9 puppies, they are eating 4 times a day now. All of them are as sweet as their Mom❤️

Today Maple is 7 months old and today is 4 months since her PRAA surgery.
She is thriving.

To think her life was going to be cut short at 9 weeks old because there was something wrong with her and her breeder requested euthanasia.

Thank God for those that care.

She does still eat in a Bailey Chair and her regurgitation episodes are not that often.
She will require a special diet and for the time being to eat in an upright position.
It takes her a little bit to warm up to strangers so her potential adopter would need to be willing to meet her a few times prior. She has been in training classes and knows basic commands.

The low end will be $6,015 the high end will be $8,415.

Knox had a wonderful Christmas!
Thank you to everyone who sent him presents from his wishlist!

He’s feeling much better and his fur is already starting to grow back in.
Next week we will be moving him to a foster in Central Florida.

Rain update:
She went thru the ER today at University of Florida. She was evaluated by the ER doctor for her ear that will not heal.
We are waiting for a consult appointment with the soft tissue surgeon.
She needs a cat scan which will be $1,500 and a revision surgery estimated between $4,000 and $6,000.

She is now up to 65.2 pounds and looking so good. When we pulled her from Pasco County with her three puppies she was only 53 lbs.

Update: Rain will be heading to University of Florida tomorrow, it has been determined she needs to see a specialist.

Rain is at the vet getting sedated for them to take a good look at her ears.
She had an ear canal removal prior to coming to our rescue which has not healed. Another surgery might be needed.

Today is also Rain’s foster Mom’s birthday.

Taffy had her first heartworm injection this past Thursday. She is resting comfortably and doing well. Her 2nd heartworm injection is scheduled for January 22nd .

Knox saw the vet today. They did a skin scrape and do suspect demodex mange, packed his ears with medication, and did an eye stain. He will be getting medicated baths and continuing his antiobiotics.
Only good days ahead for our sweet boy.

Happy Tails for Nikki, formerly Honor Cameron and his family have recently adopted Nikki. Cameron was diagnosed with Leukemia in October of 2020. He battled this blood borne Cancer until his final treatment day January 13, 2023. He is currently Cancer free and catching up on being a wild and crazy 8 year old! His dog Stevie was by his side through all the ups and downs of the treatments, chemo, nausea, you name it…she was laying right there with him. Cameron is doing great now, back in school, meeting new friends, etc. But, life threw us another curve ball. Stevie, his faithful dog and guardian, was diagnosed with, of all things, Leukemia,in early November 2023. She crossed over Rainbow Bridge just 10 days later. She was only 5 years old, the same age Cameron was when first diagnosed. They were all devastated. They were still healing their hearts when this opportunity was brought to their attention. The family can’t thank Brenda, Rescue Rebels and Paige, the foster mom, enough for this little bundle of joy! Danny states: These individuals are such loving people who believe EVERY dog deserves a chance at happiness, and every boy (or girl) deserves a dog to love and grow up with. We will be forever thankful. Nikki’s name has a special meaning. One K in her name is in memory of Lindsey’s sister Karen who died of cancer and the second K is in memory of Brenda’s son Kevin who worked with Danny.

Holly and pups had a good vet visit yesterday! Thankfully Holly is heartworm negative. Mom & babies all do have hookworms and are being treated for them. Babies are estimated to be about 4 weeks old. Holly is a super sweet girl and a fantastic mama!!!!
