Week 1 Recap:

In our whelping box during this timeframe you'll find a fleece whelping pad, that's providing appropriate traction and joint support as the puppies move around. A heating pad, as the puppies cannot regulate their own body temperature yet. And rails, along the sides of the box so mama doesn't accidentally lay on any of the puppies. Our whelping box is designed so mama can come and go as she pleases and everything she needs is set up right outside of the box.

At 3 days old we began Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introductions.

Pupdate from Pretzel (Buck from the 2022 Ice Age Litter)❤️: "Karina — when I tell you I am SO proud of this sweet boy!! 🥹🥹 my dog mom heart was bursting today!! He has never been around any of that equipment before in his life and he was literally a natural!! He was zooming through it, even the tunnel!! I was shocked!! I was like do you think he can fit thru that? The trainer said absolutely and he did it on the first time!! I will take more videos next time we go!! I’ll send you this one on messenger! I am so proud of him!! They spoke SO highly of him, he did SO well for his first visit today 🥹 I couldn’t be happier w my sweet baby!"

4 week old photos coming right up!🎉

Our week 4 set up! The pups get to hang out in the "toddler" area during the day and sleep in the whelping box at night. As they continue to reliably use the litter box we keep adding space to their play area and at 6 weeks we take the whelping box out and put their crates in!

Here's a little snippet of the pups building important relationships with one another (this is when they learn how to simply be dogs) and exploring their daily novelty item. From Weeks 3-4: - Whelping box novelty item exposure ✅ - Daily 10 step puppy massage ✅ - Introduction to potty training ✅ - Started on puppy mush ✅ - Nails trimmed ✅

The wrestling has begun! Eyes and ears are open, the pups are toddling about, discovering their voices, and now beginning to interact with one another and establish relationships. At three weeks old their personalities are starting to shine!
