Happy national dog day!! Cherish their greatness !
Today is a National Day to celebrate the fabulous DOG. An animal who has not only walked besides us, been our best and most loyal friend(s) and family members for thousands of years, but has, over those years assisted and helped save us from not only natural disasters but human made disasters as well. Been there for us without hesitation or fear. They have risked their lives for us and given unconditional love, devotion, and loyalty to us, never expecting anything in return, but always delighted when we did give a little gratitude back. The DOG, who has never and will never have a price tag for their INTEGRITY. The DOG, who has been used for science, war, rescue and of course making our wallets larger, thru dog fighting, competitions, and of course over breeding. They stare at us with loving eyes and forever giving hearts. They are our protectors and warriors when needed, willing to risk their lives for their human(s). Yet across this nation and world, thousands upon thousands are abandoned, dumped, abused, neglected and end up in deserted fields, roadsides, shelters and yards, disposed of like trash. Thousands of dogs are murdered daily across this planet by owners' abusive hands or by needles in shelters, regardless of their age or breed. WE, as humans are responsible for this genocide. WE can stop this madness if we so choose, by being responsible with our decisions and actions. Get involved, by adopting, fostering, advocating. Stop breeding and stop buying! Teach your children to respect all animals and appreciate them. They are not disposable! Please contact your local shelters and 501c Rescues and ask how you can help. Your time, your voice and/or your charitable donations are additional ways to help save lives. We call them "Man's Best Friend", and yet "man" treats them with such disregard. They deserve respect and dignity, just like they give to us, They are and will continue to be our angels with paws.
