Meet Winston — our little survivor with a giant heart just waiting to bloom.

This sweet boy came to us heartbreakingly sick, and there were moments we weren’t sure he would make it. But Winston fought with everything he had, and we matched him step for step. There were 2am sessions clearing his tiny nose so he could breathe, round-the-clock syringe feedings when he couldn’t eat on his own, oral meds, eye drops, double ear infection treatment, and countless purrito snuggles to remind him he wasn’t alone.

Today, Winston is healthy — but his spirit is still catching up. He *wants* to be brave and affectionate so badly, and you can see it in the way he watches his people with quiet hope. He just needs a calm, gentle home and someone patient enough to show him that love is safe, hands are kind, and the world isn’t so scary anymore.

We have some hopeful news!!

The electric bill is officially paid, and we’re about 95% certain we’ve diagnosed the Pilot’s issue. The part should be here Wednesday, and with the help of a kind gentleman volunteering his time, we’re praying we’ll be back on the road soon. Being out of commission for what will be almost two weeks has been devastating in ways we’re still trying to wrap our heads around.

And the hardest part? The ripple effect.

The having to tell everyone reaching out for appointments, and everyone who scheduled to get fresh touch ups for the holidays, that'd we can't make it. Feeling like we're letting you guys down is gut wrenching and we're so sorry 💜

On top of it all .....right now, we have surrender requests pending for 14 kittens, 5 cats, and 6 dogs, and we’ve had to tell every single one that we can’t help. Not because we don’t want to — but because we don’t have the resources, the mobility, or the cushion to safely take on even one more animal. If we stretch things any further, we put the ones already in our care at risk, and we just can’t do that to them.

It breaks our hearts to say no, especially knowing some of these situations are urgent. This is why having a working vehicle is so critical for us — every breakdown and every delay impacts real lives waiting for help.

We can finally see the light, but we’re not quite there yet. Your support, shares, kindness, and ideas have carried us through one of the tougher weeks we’ve had. We are forever grateful for each and every one of you.

🐾☀️HOPE ON THE HORIZON ☀️🐾

We have some hopeful news to share. A very kind gentleman has volunteered to take a look at the Pilot and do the repair work for only the cost of parts. He even thinks it may not be the catalytic converter after all. We’ll know more about what we’re facing on Saturday, but this small bit of light has truly lifted our spirits.

Thanks to the incredible kindness of this community, we’ve managed to cover all but the last $200 of the bills we needed to pay this week to avoid shutoffs and late fees. That alone is a huge weight off our shoulders.

Thank you so much to everyone who has helped — every dollar, every share, every kind message has added up. We are almost to a point where we can stay afloat until the car is fixed, and that is entirely because of you.

Update time, friends ❤️🐾

It has been a very overwhelming morning for our little family. Early today, Alyssa collapsed at home, and we had to rush her to the hospital. The doctors believe it’s connected to her autoimmune disease and possibly the development or worsening of POTS. She’s stable, but we’re still waiting on more guidance moving forward.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the Pilot decided to make its displeasure known as we were leaving the emergency room. We’ve now confirmed that the catalytic converter is completely clogged and overheating, causing misfires on cylinders 1, 2, and 3. Cleaners helped us limp along this far, but they aren’t working anymore. The repair estimate is $800.

We have about $300 set aside, but our electric bill is due tomorrow and is higher than what we currently have saved. Without a functioning vehicle, we can’t work or care for our rescue babies the way we normally do, and that’s weighing heavily on us.

If you know of a vehicle that might be available — even rent-to-own — or if you’re able to help in any way, big or small, we appreciate you more than we can ever express. Every share, every kind word, and every dollar truly matters right now. We know times are tough and everyone is struggling. We hope to get back to offering convenient and reliable care as soon as possible.

🚨🚗 UPDATE! 🚗🚨

We’ve found a private seller willing to work with us on a reliable vehicle if we can come up with $1,500 by Tuesday. This would be a huge blessing for us and for all the animals we serve. Right now, we have a little over $300 that isn’t already slated for essential bills, so we’re doing everything we can to make this happen.

To everyone who has shared, donated, or sent kind words so far — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your support keeps us going, literally and emotionally. We’re so close to giving our little team and our rescue babies a safer, more dependable way to get where we’re needed most.

Our beloved Pilot is nearing the end of her days, and it breaks our hearts to admit it. She’s carried us through rough and mucky miles, emergencies, last-minute saves, and late-night animal runs; over 270k miles worth, but now she’s struggling. We've been avoiding highways for about two months now, as that seemed to be her biggest struggle, just hoping to baby her along.

We’re replacing at least a quart of oil every week. The transmission is starting to hesitate and lurch; its 0-60....eventually. She randomly shudders and loses power at idle like she’s going to shut off—thankfully she hasn’t yet, but we know that time is coming. Our beloved mechanic says the time has come, there's no more bandaids to be had.

As most of you know, we always try to be there for each one of our amazing family, and you’ve shown up for us in ways we never could have imagined. Between rescue expenses, vet bills, human medical issues, lost work, and unexpected costs, our savings are… well, nonexistent at this point. We hate asking. Truly. But we also know that the work we do—the animals we save, the families we support, the emergencies we respond to—depends on us staying mobile.

If each of our followers donated just a dollar or two, we could build a solid chunk toward a safe, reliable vehicle to keep doing what we do. Times are tight for everyone, and we completely understand that. Every little bit, even a share, means more than you know.

First, thank you all so much for your ongoing support, kindness, and patience. You’ve stuck with us through the highs, the lows, and all the furry chaos in between — and we’re genuinely grateful for every single one of you.

Just a quick reminder that our updated pricing will begin December 1st. 💛🐾

Our goal is, and has always been, to make sure pets are cared for. With the rising costs of just about everything, we unfortunately have to raise our prices as well. We still aim to stay as affordable as possible while giving your babies the safe, gentle care they deserve.

Our pricing is simple and transparent:
• $20 per pet for nail trims, no matter the species, breed, size, or temperament
• $15 per pet for homes with 3 or more pets (only pets receiving services are counted towards this)

Additional services:
• Paw pad shaving: $5–10 each
• Ear cleaning: $5 per pet
• A**l gland expression: $25

We are always open to discussing other in-home services if you have a need 💜

There are no trip fees, no hidden charges, no surprises. Tips are always appreciated but never expected — your generosity goes directly back to the animals at Turning Tails Inc.
