.
ALOT has hit us all at once this week, and its stressful.
I believe in being completely transparent with every single one of you!
So I’ll start off with all the good things!
-Valiant is doing amazing! He is getting stronger everyday, he’s playing w the other kittens, he’s a joy to have here- and watching him thrive is the most heart warming thing!
-Lemon is getting stronger!
She has gained a significant amount of weight, her physical therapy, that we do DAILY, is helping tremendously.
-Egg roll still has 3-4 weeks of ringworm treatment, but his bald spots are healing!! Which is a good thing!
-Bonnie is a sassy little lady!
She has learned to climb the cat tree, and she is handling her bladder expressions like a champ!
Her and stump are the cutest roommates!😅
On that note- stump is having a difficult time w her bendy leg correction,
She has begun to self mutilate her legs, regardless of the pain/ anti inflammatories she is on.
She has caused severe inflammation to her stumps, and open wounds.
We can no longer wrap her legs, without her chewing the wraps, tighting the bandages, and giving herself pillow foot…
( and yes, we have tried everything under the sun to stop her from chewing her wonky legs!)
We have deemed it, for stump to have the best quality of life, to schedule an orthopedic appointment and see if there are surgical options to fix her legs..
we are in the process of scheduling an appt and will update everyone w a consultation costs.
Our newest intake Oreo needs an amputation or a surgical repair of the leg, we have this scheduled for Wednesday.
This costs is estimated to be 6-800$…
Depending on what the DR and I decide to do
Sage’s food costs us 50$ a case..
She’ll roughly go through a case of food every 2-3 weeks.
If the food does not dissolve her bladder stones in the next couple months. she will have to be scheduled for surgery.
We have 2 cats getting fixed Tuesday.
4 kittens getting fixed the week after.
Our 3 new intak
.
I’m at work today and someone was standing outside in our parking lot w a “ FREE KITTEN” sign..
So I went out there and took all three of them.
These three are 7 months old, and healthy besides fleas, FELV/FIV negative.
This was, of course, an unexpected intake, but I wasn’t going to let these kittens go to sh*tty people…
Welcome Holly, Cheyenne, and Nicolas!
.
Berry had surgery for her leg last Wednesday.
We took an X-ray before her surgery, and her leg was actually healing pretty well!
You wouldn’t even know she had a broken leg prior!
We were planing on putting pins in the leg, but once the DR got in there we decided to keep it, as it was healing beautifully!!
Berry had her leg sutured up, and we spayed her at the same time.
Yesterday we noticed a large amount of swelling and discharge from BOTH sites, and she had a 105 temperature.. leading us to believe she had an infection, even ON oral antibiotics..
We took Berry to the vet, and she unfortunately had a reaction to her sutures.
She’s slowly getting better, and healing very well!
Within the last week she’s come out of her shell!
Has ventured outside of the kitten room, and has been the most cuddly kitten!
Thank you again, to everyone who donated towards Berrys surgery!
We are thankful she was able to keep the leg! And is on her way to healing, health, and finding her forever family!

We need good vibes, prayers, and all of your healing juju sent our way for Lemon!
She suddenly went hypothermic, AND hypoglycemic yesterday morning.
Her glucose and temperature have regulated, but she is still camping out in the incubator for my sanity.
She’s definitely lethargic, and not the spunky kitten we are used to seeing everyday.
She’s getting around the clock care here at the rescue.
Fluids, multiple feedings, glucose and temp checks.
She has started a broad spectrum antibiotic.
Her PCV is normal- she there’s no anemia present, and she’s not in need of a blood transfusion .
Lemon is WAAAYYY to small to get a full panel of blood work ran.
Her stool sample from a few weeks ago was negative, ( but we still follow our every 2 week deworming protocol till adoption )
We need lemon to pull through😭🩵

Valiant had an appt at UF in Gainesville Monday.
A 7 hour trip, with LOTS of answers and I couldn’t be more proud🥹
On exam he presented strongly with right-sided weakness and circling to the left
He had an intermittent truncal sway on standstill.
Proprioception ( deep and surface pain ) was absent in his right forelimb and right hind limb with intact spinal reflexes.
Cranial nerve examination revealed absent menace response in his right eye and anisocoria (larger pupil in the right eye).
He had an intermittent left head tilt.
There was no discomfort upon palpation of the vertebral column.
Physical examination revealed low heart rate (126 beats per minute), tachypnea, and poor body and muscle condition
Valiant's neurological exam was suggestive of disease affecting the left forebrain, believed to be congenital.
His kidney values have gradually risen in 2 weeks, we ran a bile acid test to check for a liver shunt ( normal ) and had an abdominal ultrasound done ( also normal )
PROBNP - normal
Within the last week, he has gained 1/2 a pound, has figured out to eat on his own ( w occasional redirection to the bowl )
And has managed to regulate his body temperature between 97-101.8 degrees..
We believe his neurological deficits are effecting the hypothalamus and body temperature regulation will always be a problem.
Unfortunately- UF is not comfortable anesthetizing Valiant for an MRI due to his weight, tachypenea, and history of him being unable to regulate body temperature.
This makes anesthesia atrociously risky for him
we are strongly suspecting that he has localized hydrocephalus in the left vertical of the brain…
We will be monitoring Valiant closely, as always, and monitor for any decline or worsening of symptoms.
Valiants testing this week has been 947.32$
We would greatly appreciate any tax deductible donation to help continue caring for the vulnerable babies.

Lemon Peppa Steppa is getting stronger everyday! With LOTS of PT here at the rescue, she can now stand on her own, 9/10 NOT fall over! And get to her food dish and eat without having to be assisted.
She still occasionally falls in it ( hence her looking like a hot mess😅) She has almost mastered the wobbly life🙏🏻

🐈⬛DINKA DOO🐈⬛
Is looking for a FOSTER TO ADOPT home
Dinka has MILD CH, or mild cerebellar hypoplasia, or “ wobbly kitten “
Dinka is spunky, quirky and fun!
She’s a bundle of energy and love.
She adores human attention, and will climb you to be held 😅
She’s the biggest cuddle bug and lap cat!
Dinka is roughly 3 months old.
She is not fixed YET, there fore she is NOT ready to be officially adopted.
But she is able to be placed in a foster to adopt home to ensure the adopter is comfortable with a wobbly cat!!
Dinkas very clearly got a bit of a wobble to her walk, she falls occasionally ( not to often )
She is able to run, jump, play, climb the couch , use a scratching post, she is able to use a LOW sided regular litter box ( she has trouble getting in the enclosed boxes and automatic boxes, she will fall in the litter and it freaks her out )
She eats out of a raised food dish ( it is easier for her to eat w the wobbles )
And she drinks from a water fountain
She is otherwise a normal and healthy kitten! Doesn’t require any special needs or special care.
She is able to do EVERYTHING a “normal” cat can, her body just shakes..
If you’re interested in meeting Dinka, and fostering to adopt please pm us directly!
We look forward to hearing from you!
.
We have some wobbly wonkers to introduce to everyone!
Lemon Peppa Steppa
EggRoll
And Dinka Doo!
Luckily for them they found their way to us 💞
Everyone has normal blood work! And everyone has come back negative for toxoplasmosis!
Dinka Doo was a transfer from another rescue- she’s always been a wobbly kitten and hasn’t had any progression or abnormal activity, here, or at their rescue! So luckily for Dinka- it’s safe to make the very educated assumption she has mild CH.
Lemon Peppa Steppa and EggRoll and still figuring out the wobbly life!
But they’ve been receiving LOTS of physical therapy and mental stimulation here at the rescue!
So we’re hopeful in time these two ding dongs will flourish!
Valiant- “ possessing or acting with bravery or boldness, courage, determination, and fierce “ Valiant was welcomed into the rescue earlier this week. He was transferred from ANOTHER rescue, who was not able to provide adequate care… Valiant is a 6 month old kitten, weighing in at 2.4pounds. He refused to eat on his own, the foster was having to syringe feed, or constantly redirect him to food. He refuses to drink water. Refuses dry food. His pupils do not dilate correctly, he constantly vocalizes, walks very fast, and in large circles, has trouble regulating his body temperature off heat support… we brought valiant to the vet for a full work up. His blood work came back ( surprisingly) PERFECT! Ultrasound and X-rays are normal as well. We spent 76$ on a variety of wet food, dry food, raw diets, to entyce him to eat. We have been doing a combination of Mirtazapine and Elura ( both appetite stimulants ) because one was not doing the trick for him unfortunately.. We have been giving gabapentin for possible pain/inflammation.. as his teeth are brittle, and literally.. falling out.. he has also been on constant heat support. After 4 days with us, he FINALLY😭 ate a small amount on his own! ( at this point progress is progress and I’ll take it ) We spoke to internal medicine earlier today about his case, who referred us to neurology. We will be scheduling a visit within the next weeks to get him seen, but we need to raise some funds towards his care. ( speciality appts are not cheap) We NEED all the good vibes sent our way for Valiant! He requires around the clock critical care and monitoring.. but we lives up to his name!
If you haven’t been to the PURe JOY CAT CAFE yet, definitely go online and schedule an appt! The impact they’re making in our community in such a short amount of time is simply ✨amazing✨ the Cafe is beautiful! And all the cats and kittens are so happy and playful!!
.
AND THE WINNER OF THE RAFFLE IS🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 PAIGE STRICKLAND!! Thank you so much to every single person who entered into this raffle! You guys are truly amazing 🥹 we raised 632$ towards Berrys leg amputation! And it couldn’t have been done without all of you!
Is Harold the best biscuit maker ever?! We think YES! This sweet chunk of a boy was welcomed into the rescue yesterday and is very.. blind. He has MEGA eye discharge.. constantly. But that’s okay! We can fix it! Harold is being started on an oral antibiotic, and Terramycin eye ointment. We have started L-Lysine in his food, and some Gabapentin to help with any pain or inflammation. Even over night, the swelling in his right eye has gone down tremendously. He’s roughly 6-8 months old, and cryptorchid.. so when it comes time for him to be fixed, it’ll be more invasive. But we’ll get Harold feeling better in no time!
Stump was welcomed into the rescue yesterday! Thank you Rebecca Christine for transporting for us! It will forever blow my mind, how well animals can adopt when they have deformities! Stump will require ALOT of taping of the legs, vigorous physical therapy, and wrapping in HOPES🤞🏻 we can fix his legs while he is still growing. If you’d like to support stump, and the other animals in our rescue, we would forever be grateful🫶🏻
This kitten is located in Fort Pierce FL. Roughly 3 hours from Deltona ( rescue location ) we NEED transport ASAP to get this little one to us. We WILL PAY FOR TRANSPORT, GAS, TIME ETC. Please PM or comment if you can help w transport!
Grogu, the cat we took in w multiple fractures to his pelvis. The cat we took In, who couldn’t walk at all. After a few weeks on cage rest, his fractures have healed completely and he is up and walking! ( slowly ) but we’re getting their! This is HUGE improvement for Grogu!
This is “ vicious” cuz he’s clearly a ferocious guy when he plays!! This little one was transported to us from Miami a few days ago, he is dragging his right hind leg. We had X-rays done, and there are no fractures, breaks, or dislocations, so we are assuming a soft tissue energy. He is getting laser treatments here at the rescue, antibiotics to be on the safe side, an anti inflammatory, and physical therapy. We’re already seeing improvement with the leg!! But welcome to the rescue little one!
