Standard work hours are listed, but we will do our best during non-office hours to take your calls and meet by appointment. As a 501(c)3 Non-Profit, we are working in conjunction with Deming Animal Guardians (DAG) to be the kindest place to bring the unwanted, neglected and homeless animals of Luna County, New Mexico. Deming Animal Guardians (DAG) is an all volunteer, IRS recognized charity that h

Our mission is to care for and love, vaccinate, spay and neuter all animals brought into our care prior to re-homing into approved and loving homes. In spaying and neutering before re-homing, we hope to stop the needless cycle of unwanted animals in our community. Any and all animals will be welcome to our sanctuary! Dogs, cats, horses, goats, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, ferrets, birds, llamas, b***o, fish, pigs, reptiles, and basically all of God's creatures. As you can imagine, this is a huge endeavor, but we are confident that our community and our friends will pull together to make this happen before year end. All lives matter. Donations of product, cash and legacy gifts are all appreciated. Should you choose to leave a legacy gift, you can donate a specific sum of money, a percentage of your estate or what’s remaining of your estate after your other beneficiaries have been provided for. Legacy gifts make an incredible impact in savings pets in crisis. A future gift arranged through your estate plan to Deming Animal Guardians Sunshine Haven Intake Project & Rescue (DAGSHIP Rescue) non-profit rescue, provides funding for future pets in our care. Everyone has their own motivations for giving a gift to charity, and everyone that does, shares

Salem has been with us for awhile mainly because when people come he hides and will even run from those he doesn’t know. He is not mean AT ALL. Just takes him time to trust!! Pupdate on Steve 💙

This Lovable guy is about 4 years old, C**n Hound weighing sbout 55lbs! He does great with just about any dog big or small, even good with cats. Steve is a very good boy as he ignores chickens and goats, he doesn't particularly like horses or donkeys but it's because they freak him out. He is NOT mean at all just barks to let everyone know he isn't pleased 😂

Steve does know sit, down and will even try to shake! He is also very well house trained! One thing about Steve is he loves to be by his person or his family's at all times. He is a magnet to his foster right now and she says he would be an amazing support animal ❤️

Neutered, microchiped and up-to-date on shots!

We start all adoptions as TRIALS for the pup and the family to make sure it is a perfect fit 🐾

Deming, we need your help!

DHS Cheer is teaming up with DAG SHIP Rescue - Deming Animal Guardians Sunshine Haven Intake Project
DAG SHIP is in need of blankets & food for the cats & dogs at their facility.
We will have a donation box setup at the Deming High School gym entrance during the basketball games on Saturday November 23rd & Saturday November 30th from 2PM to 4PM.

Meet Butters!!
This Heinz 57 guy is about six years old mix of a couple different things as you can see weighing about 65lbs. He is a big guy, but he knows his size and does not pull or knock over. Butters is an amazing dog 🐾 he is great with just about any other dog big or small! Also good with kids☺️ Even good with cats as they kind of freak him out some. Very loving and loyal especially once he truly trust you!! It does take a second for Butters to want pets he just got a scope the scene and then he’ll come up for a visit!

Butters is a great yard protector as he always alerts us when somebody’s outside, but on the other end, he is house trained and is a couch potato! He does great on the leash and enjoys his walks sniffing and seeing new things you can see how much joy I brings him.

Neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped!

All adoptions start off trials to make sure it’s a perfect fit for the family and the pup ✨

A HUGE THANK YOU for the outpouring of community support during our hard times! As whole this week has been INSANELY busy but in the BEST way possible, as far as adoptions, donations and even new volunteers 💕
We are so grateful for the community we have and continue to push forward to do everything we can do help the animals and people in it 🐾

Another huge shoutout to the app ‘TREAT’ it has been a BIG help to us here! Just this week we’ve gotten shipments EVERY day of food, treats and even now TOYS 🦴🧸
