Our mission statement is: To develop a successful adoption program for unwanted animals within the city of Denison, TX. To eliminate the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals. To develop a network of partners and businesses to fund this endeavor, and to create an organization that oversees animal welfare within the city of Denison. To raise funds to pay for veterinary care and fees associated w

Hey Lab lovers, check out beautiful Juliet! Juliet is a six-year-old, 56 lb., Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix. This pretty, sugar-kissed-face girl is friendly and loves attention! She’s HOUSE TRAINED, knows some basic commands like “sit,” and walks nicely on the leash! She’s the real deal when it comes to being a best friend!

🎄 Be Merry and Bright — Save a Life!🐶🎄Now’s the time to make a homeless dog’s Christmas dream come true! DAWG will be at PETSMART in Sherman on Sat. Dec. 21 from 10am-3pm! Our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, chipped, treated for any parasites, and many have been in training for basic commands. We’ll help you find your perfect match!

❤️UPDATE-thanks to your generosity we now have a large supply of dry dog and cat food to ensure our community pet food shelves will be fully stocked for months to come!❤️

We understand that many people are facing economic hardships, making it difficult to feed their pets. DAWG strives to offer temporary assistance through our community food pantry, but currently, our shelves are empty, and we are forced to turn away people daily. It breaks our hearts to know that pets in our community are going hungry. Can you help by donating dry dog or cat food? Any brand of kibble is welcome. Donations can be dropped off at the DAWG House daily from 9-2 and 4-6. We appreciate everyone's support!

The City of Denison requires strays to be held for 3 full days (6 days if chipped to owner or wearing owner-identifiable tag) . Unclaimed dogs in the shelter MAY be offered for adoption through DAWG. There is NO GUARANTEE that any particular dog will be offered for adoption. If you do NOT intend to reclaim your dog and can provide information about the dog’s temperament and behavior, please message DAWG with that information.
