Gotta love it when those pos hets prove out!

This was Tofu x Udon. Udon is our younger super yeti, so he did a great job this year. But the real prize is Tofu. She’s an axanthic superconda we got from Herpin' Harbins (herpinharbins) a few years back. She was only 66% pos het albino, but she proved out by delivering this awesome clutch with 6 super yetis!

It continues to snow around here, it seems. 6 super yetis along with 10 completely unrelated yetis as well!

Absolutely horribly sad news.

We purchased our first hognose from Tom at a small show in Tennessee in 2020, and here we are 4 years later with our 3rd breeding season well underway.

Visiting with Tom was always one of the highlights of the shows we frequent, whether when we lived in Chattanooga or here in DFW, TX. To check out what he’s been working on, to get tips of the trade, ask questions, or just to shoot the breeze about life and passion. Tom exemplified humility and kindness in every interaction we ever had with him. Truly a living ministry, and he no doubt will leave a legacy and lasting impact on those who met him.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Tom Harbin... He was one of the (if not THE) most friendly snake breeders I (Emily) ever knew. I always looked forward to finding his tables at reptile conventions and geeking out about hognose morphs, behaviors, and just snakes in general. He was incredibly knowledgeable about hognose snakes, and was someone I truly looked up to in the reptile breeding community. You could tell he bred snakes not for the profit, but for the passion of the animals. You left this world too early, Tom. I still had so much to learn from you. We'll miss you, Tom ❤️

Big things happening! We’ve got three clutches pipping right now, with a fourth expected at any moment. 😊

Here’s a sneak peek for now. This is Leia’s clutch this year, and you can see quite a few AAAs, a couple grey fogs, and even a super daddy (definitely a holdback lol). If you look closely, you’ll notice what appears to be a super arctic as well, given how dark he is.

This clutch, Starlight’s first, has had a rough go of it. We lost 5 nearly right after they were laid, and another two are separated in the incubator but probably no longer viable.

So to walk out to the reptile room, open the incubator, and see this little beauties was a breath of fresh air! First pips of the season, so far looks like a sunburst and an arctic sunburst.

I purchased some new hides to try out.🥰
I said to to have fun with the colors, and I was not disappointed; I love these! My favorite part is the front is magnetic so you can see your little ones hanging out inside.

This size works well for juveniles, but there is currently work ongoing for a medium and a large version.

Happy Mother’s Day!

On the note of Mother’s Day, these little tic-tacs are from our female viper geckos. First time moms as of today, and both on the same day! This is the first time we’ve bred them, and looking forward to working with them more and more. 🥰

Miso’s out here topping the list once again, as she did last year, but this time with 16.

Time will tell if the one (smallest, yellow-ish) one ends up being viable, though I suspect it is not. Still, as the adage goes: incubate until there’s no debate. ☺️

More eggs!

We’ve been a little behind on getting these all posted.

Here we have 14 eggs from Leia x Aragorn (Arctic conda het albino x Arctic albino superconda). She gave us 10 last year which was her first year. The 4 extra are wonderful additions.

She’s going great, already back to her voracious appetite too. ☺️

Hoping to get a Super Daddy or two this year, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Don’t mind the pancaking: she just wasn’t fond of the photoshoot.

This lovely toxic conda is Belladonna. She was acquired from Ancient Reptiles (Bryan Boswell) a few months ago, and is planned to breed for the first year next year for the 2025 season.

We actually have a special plan for her next year, but it will be a bit of a surprise for now. 😜

Thanks so much to everyone who came out yesterday. It was a good day, especially for our first show with very little inventory.

We sold two normal hognose and both viper geckos.

Of course, couldn’t help but pick up a couple newbies as well for our breeding plan (photos to come soon).

Babysitter plan fell through last night, so the kids ended up going with us. But they did great as well! They enjoyed going around the conference and getting stamps for the USARK Passport, and getting to see all the amazing creatures that were there. 🥰😊

We look forward to seeing everyone again in September! And we should have a lot more inventory by then lol.

It begins!

First clutch of the year, finally! This girl was exactly 14 days after finishing her pre-lay shed. These are from Starlight and Phoenix (Arctic Sunburst x Sunburst), so there’s no doubt these guys will be beautiful! 🤩

Along with Hemlock, Mathan is also a new acquisition from JMG. He’s a generic powerhouse: superconda, arctic, toffee belly, het sable.

The plan is to use him with Valkyrie, to produce conda and arctic conda Mai Tais, as well as with Merida to produce arctic toffeecondas and super arctic toffee condas.

I love his dorsal coloring. 😊
