Another set of show pictures from last weekend. Most of our classes went well, but we busted two classes. I messed up the pattern in Reining and Fancy decided she was terrified of logs in our Trail class 🥴

The pictures from May’s freestyle!

Our theme was the Friends TV Show. This was my favorite class for the whole TIP challenge weekend and May really enjoyed doing her tricks.

The 100 day WayMaker Wild to Willing challenge with May has come to a close! We drove out to Hamilton, TX to compete and show off the skills she’s learned since pickup. This was a great TIP challenge with a great group of people putting it on and competing.
I am so happy with how May handled the show environment! She was so calm and listened through each of the patterns.
In Handling and Conditioning, we placed 5th in the class! The first part of the pattern was smooth and clean. Both ground ties we had to do were near perfect (she had to smell the top of the barrel while I was brushing the other side.) She took one look at the trailer at the end of the pattern and refuses to load 🙃 despite the refusal, I am still happy with how this class went.
In Trail, we placed 3rd! She didn’t spook at all the obstacles in the arena and flowed through the pattern so smoothly I was sure I had forgotten something 😃
Her freestyle’s theme was Friends the TV show. It was so fun to plan and show! I don’t have any photos of that class yet but the outfit is in the collection of photos below!
We finished 3rd overall out of 19 mustangs.
I am so proud of May and how far she’s come since pick up. For the first few weeks, I wasn’t sure we were going to make it. She was spooky, scared of her own shadow and wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. Somewhere along the 100 days, she got confident and brave and turned into an in-your-pocket-horse. We can’t go anywhere in the pasture now without our big shadow, expecting to go everywhere with us. She wants all the love and attention (and tries to steal my attention when I’m working my other horses).
Now with the challenge over, we move onto the next steps in her training. I’ll start working on getting her under saddle and finding the perfect home for her!

May went to her first horse show last weekend! She did all the obstacles and maneuvers with ease. I’m very proud of how she handled the show and placed 1st in their In-Hand division!! The biggest struggle in the pattern was the ground tie 😅 she wasn’t sure why I was leaving her. We had a few nervous moments where she spooked at the other horses and people moving around her, but we were able to work through her nervousness. By the end, she’d started to relax with all the people hanging around her. She got to meet several strangers and a few have her some well earned treats 🥰

Two pretty mustangs being good little ponies 🥰
May learned how to pony out in the big pasture and did wonderful. She’s a little slow compared to Fancy, but that might be the size difference between them.
