When Floyd's owner passed away he found himself waiting at the shelter for a new home. Ian, the long time mail carrier for Floyd and his owner, has known Floyd since he was a puppy. As soon as Ian heard about Floyd's situation he rushed to the shelter and adopted him. Now Floyd has a new home with a familiar friend who truly cares.🧑🏼💌🐕

HElP!! I know we have a big clientele and we need some big help!! Making this post isn’t the easiest one to make; one of our customers who is dear to us has suddenly passed away. You probably seen him around town in his wheelchair with his black German Shepherd. His name was Ken Meyers and his dog name is Floyd. Without family or anybody knowing that he had passed Floyd was left alone for possibly a week to his own devices. By the grace of God, one of our customers is his neighbor and call for a wellness check. Floyd has been taken by animal services to get checked out and be held for observation before he is available for adoption. I can only imagine how traumatized and scared he has been, and now being stuck in the pound, surrounded by people he doesn’t know breaks my heart. I have been in contact with the city and they have been doing everything to make sure Floyd is safe and healthy. Upon approval, I will be able to go pick him up Thursday and we will be in the process of trying to find him a new home. During that time I will foster him at my home since he knows me and will be most comfortable there. Floyd is a neutered two-year-old German Shepherd/ lab mix who is very eager to please and wants to be the best boy he could be. With Ken being in a wheelchair Floyd knows how to behave; is completely crate and potty trained. He’s very playful, great with other dogs, older kids, cats, and loves a good snuggle. I will add some pictures and be emailing German Shepard Rescue as well. If anybody has any suggestions or is interested in having a really awesome dog, please reach out.
